iQoo 16 Leak Teases a Flagship Powerhouse With Three 50MP Cameras

iQoo 16 leak points to a major flagship upgrade with triple 50MP cameras and next-gen Snapdragon power

The iQoo 16 is already shaping up to be one of the most exciting flagship smartphones expected later this year. As the successor to the iQoo 15, the upcoming device is rumored to bring serious upgrades in performance, display quality, battery life, and camera hardware.

According to recent leaks, the iQoo 16 could be among the first smartphones to launch with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset. This next-generation processor is expected to be announced at the Snapdragon Summit in September 2026 and may be built on an advanced 2nm process. If accurate, that would represent a major step forward in efficiency and performance compared to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 used in the iQoo 15.

The upcoming chipset is also rumored to support LPDDR6 RAM and feature the Adreno 850 GPU, which could make the iQoo 16 a powerful option for gaming, multitasking, AI features, and high-end mobile photography.

A new leak from a well-known Weibo tipster has now revealed what could be the phone’s camera setup. The iQoo 16 is said to feature a triple 50MP rear camera system, giving users high-resolution sensors across the main, ultrawide, and telephoto lenses.

The primary camera is rumored to use a large 1/1.3-inch sensor with an f/1.68 aperture. That would be a noticeable upgrade over the iQoo 15, which features a 50MP Sony IMX921 main camera with a smaller 1/1.56-inch sensor. A larger sensor typically helps capture more light, which can improve low-light photos, dynamic range, and overall image detail.

The ultrawide camera is also tipped to come in at 50MP with an f/2.0 aperture. This could make the iQoo 16 more versatile for landscape photography, group shots, architecture, and wide-angle video recording.

Rounding out the setup, the phone is expected to include a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with a 1/1.95-inch sensor and an f/2.65 aperture. Interestingly, this appears similar to the periscope camera hardware found on the iQoo 15, suggesting iQoo may keep a proven zoom system while focusing upgrades on the main sensor.

Beyond the camera, previous leaks suggest the iQoo 16 may feature a large 6.85-inch display with a “2K” resolution and a super-smooth 165Hz refresh rate. That combination would make it especially appealing for mobile gamers and users who want a premium viewing experience for streaming, browsing, and everyday use.

Battery life could also be a major highlight. The iQoo 16 is rumored to pack a massive battery of around 8,500mAh, which would be much larger than what is typically found in flagship smartphones. If paired with an efficient 2nm chipset, the device could deliver impressive endurance despite its high-refresh-rate display and powerful hardware.

While these details are still based on leaks and should be treated with caution, the iQoo 16 appears to be aiming for the top tier of the Android flagship market. With a next-generation Snapdragon chip, triple 50MP cameras, a high-resolution 165Hz display, and a huge battery, it could become one of the most competitive performance-focused smartphones of 2026.
