The iQoo 15 made its debut in October 2025 as a performance-first flagship built for speed, high refresh-rate gaming, and top-tier daily responsiveness. Now, attention is shifting to its expected successor, the iQoo 16, and a fresh leak is hinting at some meaningful upgrades that could make it one of the most powerful Android phones of the year.
A new report from well-known tipster Digital Chat Station suggests the iQoo 16 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro. If this information is accurate, it would represent a sizable jump over the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 used in the iQoo 15. The upcoming chip is rumored to move to a more advanced 2nm manufacturing process, compared to the 3nm process used by the previous generation. That shift typically points to improvements in performance and power efficiency, which can translate into faster sustained speeds and better battery management under heavy loads.
The leak also claims the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro may support faster LPDDR6 memory and could reach clock speeds up to 5GHz. While real-world performance depends on cooling and tuning, those specs suggest iQoo may be positioning the iQoo 16 as a serious contender for mobile gaming, multitasking, and power users who want flagship-level speed without compromises.
On the display side, the iQoo 16 is rumored to feature a large 6.85-inch panel with a sharp 2K resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate. That would be a noticeable step up from the iQoo 15’s 144Hz screen, potentially delivering even smoother animations, more fluid scrolling, and better responsiveness in competitive games that can take advantage of higher refresh rates.
Camera details are less clear, but the leak points to two possible directions for the main sensor: either 50MP or a much higher-resolution 200MP option. In addition, the iQoo 16 is said to include a periscope telephoto camera described as a “mid-segment” solution. For context, the iQoo 15 features a 50MP periscope telephoto sensor (1/1.95-inch) with 3x optical zoom, so it will be interesting to see whether iQoo prioritizes zoom quality, sensor size, or cost-saving changes with the next model.
As always with early leaks, it’s worth treating these claims cautiously until iQoo officially confirms specifications. Still, if the rumored chipset, display, and camera upgrades are even close to accurate, the iQoo 16 could be shaping up as a major refresh that pushes performance, screen smoothness, and imaging hardware beyond what the iQoo 15 already offers.
