Siri AI Could Look More Polished on the iPhone 18 Pro With a Smaller Dynamic Island
Apple’s upgraded Siri AI is shaping up to be one of the biggest software highlights coming to iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Introduced with iOS 27, macOS 27, and iPadOS 27, the new Siri experience brings a more capable, context-aware assistant across Apple’s ecosystem. But on the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro models, Siri may also get a subtle visual upgrade that makes it feel even more refined.
During Apple’s recent WWDC presentation, the company showed the refreshed Siri AI interface running on what appeared to be an iPhone 17 Pro or iPhone 17 Pro Max. In that demo, the Siri activation animation appeared in a pill-shaped style, matching the longer Dynamic Island design on current Pro models.
That design may change with the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.
According to recent rumors, Apple is planning to shrink the Dynamic Island on the iPhone 18 Pro lineup by around 25 to 35 percent compared to the previous generation. If accurate, this smaller cutout could allow Siri’s activation animation to appear as a more circular shape rather than the elongated pill seen on earlier models.
The change may sound minor, but it could make the Siri AI interface feel cleaner and more consistent. Apple already uses circular Siri animations on devices without a notch or Dynamic Island, so bringing a similar look to the iPhone 18 Pro would help create a more unified visual style across iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
The smaller Dynamic Island is expected to be limited to the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. The standard iPhone 18 model is rumored to keep a more familiar design. Reports suggest Apple may achieve the reduced Dynamic Island size by repositioning some Face ID components, though the company has not confirmed any hardware changes.
The iPhone 18 series is expected to arrive in September, with the rumored iPhone Ultra likely to attract much of the attention. Even so, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max could still offer meaningful design refinements, especially for users who care about the look and feel of iOS.
Siri AI itself is expected to be much more capable than previous versions of Apple’s voice assistant. The upgraded assistant should offer deeper system integration, better contextual understanding, and broader support across Apple devices. However, the full Siri AI experience may require iPhone models equipped with at least 12 GB of RAM, meaning not every device running iOS 27 will receive the complete feature set.
For now, the circular Siri animation on the iPhone 18 Pro remains based on leaks and speculation. Still, if Apple does shrink the Dynamic Island as rumored, the updated Siri AI interface could become one of those small but noticeable changes that makes the next iPhone feel more polished.
