However, fresh insights from a tipster suggest that the upcoming iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air might not receive this coveted feature, maintaining a distinction between the ‘Pro’ and standard models.
ProMotion, first seen in the iPhone 13 Pro series, offers an adaptive refresh rate that dynamically adjusts based on content usage, potentially enhancing battery life and user experience. Current models can lower the refresh rate to as little as 1Hz, but this functionality might be absent from the iPhone 17 and 17 Air.
Reports from various sources have previously hinted that both the iPhone 17 and 17 Air would incorporate ProMotion. However, according to a Weibo post by leaker Fixed Focus Digital, these models will have a 120Hz display without ProMotion support, possibly opting for a standard LTPS panel instead.
