Vecow, a prominent Taiwanese PC manufacturer, is redefining industrial computing solutions with its innovative TGS Series AI Mini PCs. These devices boast a modular design capable of integrating powerful Intel Core Ultra processors and high-end NVIDIA RTX GPUs, all within a compact form factor.
The TGS Series comprises two primary models, the TGS-1000 and TGS-1500. These mini PCs target the emerging Edge AI market segment with their cutting-edge Intel Core Ultra “Meteor Lake” CPUs. Where these two models diverge is in their GPU support, with the TGS-1500 offering additional MXM GPU compatibility for enhanced graphics performance.
In terms of hardware, the TGS-1000 is engineered with a fanless design and offers a choice between Intel Core Ultra 7 165H and Intel Ultra 5 135H CPUs. The integrated onboard NPU delivers up to 11 TOPS AI performance, making it well-suited for industrial applications. However, for those who require even more power, the TGS-1500 model can be equipped with an NVIDIA RTX “Ada” series MXM GPU.
The memory and storage capacities on the TGS-1000 series are notable, featuring dual-channel slots supporting DDR5-6400 modules with potential configurations up to 96 GB. Additionally, two M.2 PCIe 4.0 x 4 slots are available, ensuring compatibility with multiple form factors. This mini-PC also does not fall short on connectivity options, boasting multiple USB ports, including two HDMI 2.1 and one DisplayPort 1.4 for video output. The possibility of integrating additional DisplayPort 1.4 ports through the MXM graphics extends its display capabilities even further.
The TGS-1500 enhances the TGS-1000 framework by adding a second stackable layer to host various MXM GPUs, ranging from NVIDIA’s RTX Ada to Intel Arc options. Some GPU models include the NVIDIA RTX A2000 Ada, Quadro RTX 5000, and Intel Arc A370M, among others. These options cater to a wide array of AI and media processing workloads, with NVIDIA architectures offering up to 41.15 TFLOPS peak FP32 performance, and the Intel Xe HPG microarchitecture boasting 72 TOPS AI performance.
Beyond the standard ports provided, the TGS-1000 series can be augmented with additional stackable modules to expand the available connections. Modules such as the TGS-101 to TGS-107 offer different functionalities, from GPIO interfaces to additional USB and LAN ports, as well as 4G connectivity with a SIM socket.
Although Vecow has not disclosed the pricing for these high-performance mini-PCs, the market can expect a premium price point considering their targeted industrial applications and the advanced SoCs they employ.
The Vecow TGS Series AI Mini PCs present a novel blend of modularity, power, and compactness, revolutionizing the industrial computing space with their groundbreaking stackable design that supports some of the most powerful CPUs and GPUs available for mini PC platforms.
