Introducing the Sporty Electric Powerhouse: Volkswagen ID.3 GTX Performance

Volkswagen has officially unveiled its new ID.3 GTX Performance model, an electric vehicle (EV) that promises to elevate the driving experience to new, exhilarating heights. With an emphatic sporty flair, the ID.3 GTX Performance is marked as the pinnacle of the GTX range with its substantial 240 kilowatt (kW) power output, enabling it to sprint from a standstill to approximately 60 miles per hour (mph) in under six seconds.

Designed to echo the spirited essence of the Golf GTI Clubsport, albeit in electric form, the ID.3 GTX Performance offers a fresh, innovative take on Volkswagen’s beloved powertrain. The vehicle sports a distinctive diamond-patterned air intake, setting it apart from its base model at first glance. It aims to deliver a driving experience marked by agility and precision, supported by a sporty low center of gravity achieved through strategic battery placement within the middle of the car’s floor plan.

The enhanced driving experience does not come at the cost of range. The ID.3 GTX and GTX Performance models boast a 79kWh battery capacity, which is not the largest in the ID.3 series but still provides a respectable range. Specifically, the GTX Performance can achieve up to ~373 miles (601 kilometers) on a single charge under the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP) standards. This model also holds the distinction of being the first in the ID.3 lineup to exceed speeds of ~124mph (200km/h).

With a torque rating of 545 newton-meters (Nm), both the GTX Performance and the standard GTX variant promise robust performance. Notably, even the non-Performance model with a 210kW output delivers on power. In terms of charging efficiency, the vehicles can rapidly recharge from 10 to 80% in just 26 minutes with an appropriate charger.

Both models are equipped with an array of features to enhance safety and convenience on the road, such as Cruise Control, Lane Assist, Dynamic Road Sign Display, and autonomous emergency braking. The Performance variant takes technology a step further, incorporating a voice assistant and offering the option for online Connected Travel Assist, ensuring a connected and intuitive driving experience.

The ID.3 GTX series is rolling out in the European market with a starting price of €52,295, equivalent to approximately $57,133. As this sporty electric addition to the Volkswagen family makes its debut, drivers can anticipate an invigorating combination of power, efficiency, and cutting-edge technology, all wrapped up in the eco-friendly package of an electric vehicle.

The ID.3 GTX Performance also features an updated interior that hints at both luxury and innovation, designed to complement the dynamic capabilities of the car and provide a comfortable, high-tech environment for both driver and passengers.

With the introduction of the ID.3 GTX Performance, Volkswagen takes a confident step forward in blending environmental consciousness with the thrill of high performance, indicating a future where sustainable driving does not compromise on excitement or capability.
