Intel Wildcat Lake Laptops Emerge With 165 Hz OLED Displays and 32 GB RAM

Lenovo appears to be preparing a new wave of IdeaPad Slim 3i laptops powered by Intel’s upcoming Wildcat Lake processors, bringing updated hardware options to its affordable thin-and-light lineup. The upcoming models include the IdeaPad Slim 3i 14IWC11, 15IWC11, 16IWC11, and 17IWC11, with each version targeting users who want a practical everyday laptop with newer-generation Intel performance.

According to the listed specifications, Lenovo plans to offer most of these IdeaPad Slim 3i models with three processor choices: the Intel Core 5 315, Core 5 320, and Core 7 350. All three chips are 6-core processors featuring 2 performance cores and 4 low-power efficiency cores, a setup designed to balance responsive daily performance with improved battery efficiency.

The 15-inch IdeaPad Slim 3i 15IWC11 stands out because it is currently the only model listed with an additional Intel Core 3 304 option. This processor uses a 5-core layout after dropping one performance core, making it a more entry-level choice. It also comes with a noticeably weaker integrated GPU compared to the Core 5 315, Core 5 320, and Core 7 350, so users who care about graphics performance may want to look toward the higher-tier configurations.

Battery options look promising for this class of laptop. Lenovo is expected to offer the new IdeaPad Slim 3i models with either 50 Wh or 60 Wh batteries, depending on configuration. That should give buyers some flexibility between lighter, more affordable builds and longer-lasting versions better suited for travel, school, or work.

Another notable detail is the use of user-upgradeable memory. The laptops are listed with RAM support through a single SO-DIMM slot, which means owners should be able to upgrade memory after purchase. While a single slot may limit maximum flexibility compared to dual-slot designs, upgradeable RAM is still a welcome feature at a time when many thin laptops use fully soldered memory.

Display options may be one of the biggest selling points of the upcoming IdeaPad Slim 3i series. Most models, excluding the 17-inch version, are expected to offer OLED screen configurations. The IdeaPad Slim 3i 15IWC11 looks especially attractive, with an OLED option reaching up to a 165 Hz refresh rate and 500 nits of brightness. That combination could make the 15-inch model appealing for users who want smoother visuals, richer contrast, and a brighter display for entertainment, browsing, and productivity.

The 17-inch IdeaPad Slim 3i 17IWC11 appears to be more basic in comparison. Instead of OLED, it is listed with a 1080p IPS display using a 16:9 aspect ratio. The panel reaches 300 nits of peak brightness, supports a 60 Hz refresh rate, covers 72% of the NTSC color space, and has an 800:1 contrast ratio. While this should be serviceable for everyday tasks, it is clearly less impressive than the OLED options available on the smaller models.

Lenovo has not yet confirmed when the IdeaPad Slim 3i 14IWC11, 15IWC11, 16IWC11, and 17IWC11 will go on sale. Pricing also remains unknown for now. However, with Intel Wildcat Lake processors, optional OLED displays, upgradeable RAM, and multiple battery choices, the next IdeaPad Slim 3i lineup could become an appealing option for students, home users, and productivity-focused buyers looking for a modern budget laptop.
