Intel Arc Battlemage “G21” GPU Unveiled: Brimming with 20 Xe2 Cores, 12 GB Memory, and a Whopping 2850 MHz Clock Speed

Intel’s upcoming Arc Battlemage “G21” GPU has been benchmarked on Geekbench, revealing performance on par with the Arc A770 in initial tests. As Intel’s next leap in the graphics arena, the Arc Battlemage series, powered by the Xe2 architecture, is generating significant buzz.

The test showed the GPU, identified as “8086:E20B” on Geekbench, under the “Intel Xe Graphics RI” device name. This configuration features 160 compute units organized into 20 Xe2 cores and operates at a clock speed of 2850 MHz, considerably higher than previous consumer models. It also boasts 12 GB of memory, further underscoring its potential.

Intel’s Xe2 graphics made their formal entrance via the Lunar Lake SOCs, which handle the iGPU segment. However, enthusiasts and experts alike are eagerly awaiting the discrete GPUs in the Arc Battlemage series. Past leaks have provided glimpses, but this latest benchmark offers concrete performance data and specifications for the lineup.

Intel has been identified in various Linux Kernel drivers and patches, corroborating the presence of this particular GPU. Here is a detailed list of the Arc Battlemage GPUs:

– vendor: 8086, device: e202 – Battlemage G21 [Intel Graphics]
– vendor: 8086, device: e20b – Battlemage G21 [Intel Graphics]
– vendor: 8086, device: e20c – Battlemage G21 [Intel Graphics]
– vendor: 8086, device: e20d – Battlemage G21 [Intel Graphics]
– vendor: 8086, device: e212 – Battlemage G21 [Intel Graphics]

The benchmarking session involved the OpenCL test on Geekbench 6, using an Intel Core i5-13600K CPU coupled with 32 GB of DDR5-4800 memory. The Arc Battlemage achieved a score of 97,943 points, aligning with what the Arc A770 “Alchemist” with its 32 Xe2 cores and Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 4060 scored.

Although these initial numbers are promising, it’s important to note that there’s significant room for optimization and driver improvements. As Intel continues to refine the performance, higher-end models can be expected to deliver even more impressive results. The anticipated launch is rumored to be later this year, so there’s much to look forward to for those eyeing the new GPU lineup.

Stay tuned for more updates on Intel’s advancements in the Arc Battlemage series as we get closer to their official release.
