India Scores Exclusive OnePlus 15R Upgrade With a Bigger Power Boost

OnePlus 15R Gets a More Powerful 16GB RAM Variant in India

OnePlus has quietly expanded the OnePlus 15R lineup in India with a new higher-end variant, giving buyers more memory than the versions that were available at launch. The latest model comes with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage, making it the most powerful OnePlus 15R configuration so far.

When the OnePlus 15R launched last December, it was offered in two storage options: 256GB and 512GB. Both versions came with 12GB of RAM. With the arrival of the new 16GB RAM model, the OnePlus 15R now moves closer to the flagship OnePlus 15 in terms of memory, while still keeping a more affordable position in the lineup.

The new OnePlus 15R 16GB RAM + 512GB storage variant is priced at ₹61,999 in India, which is approximately $655 or €570. That makes it a competitive option for users who want flagship-level performance, large storage, and extra multitasking power without stepping up to the more expensive OnePlus 15.

However, this new variant is currently limited to the Indian market. OnePlus has not announced availability for other regions, including the United States. One likely reason is pricing. If this model were introduced in the US, it could come too close to the price range of the OnePlus 15, which starts at $899.99, potentially making the product lineup more complicated.

Color choices are also limited for the 16GB RAM version. Buyers in India can choose between Mint Breeze and Charcoal Black, while the Electric Violet color option remains unavailable for this configuration.

The OnePlus 15R continues to offer a strong set of specifications. It features a large 6.83-inch display with a 2800 × 1272 resolution, a 165Hz adaptive refresh rate, and Gorilla Glass 7i protection. The high refresh rate makes the phone especially appealing for gaming, smooth scrolling, and users who want a fast, responsive screen experience.

Powering the device is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, paired with fast LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. With 16GB of RAM now available, the OnePlus 15R should deliver even better performance for heavy multitasking, gaming, app switching, and long-term usability.

For photography, the phone includes a 50MP Sony IMX906 main camera with optical image stabilization, along with an 8MP ultra-wide camera. On the front, there is a 32MP selfie camera with autofocus, which should help improve video calls, selfies, and social media content creation.

Battery life is another major highlight of the OnePlus 15R. The phone packs a massive 7,400mAh battery, giving it the capacity to handle demanding daily use. It also supports 80W fast charging, and OnePlus includes the charger in the box, which is becoming less common among premium smartphones.

Other features include an advanced cooling system, Wi-Fi 7, NFC, Bluetooth 6.0, dual-SIM support, an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, and strong dust and water resistance with IP66 and IP69K ratings.

On the software side, the OnePlus 15R runs OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16. OnePlus is also promising four major Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates, making the phone a more attractive choice for buyers who plan to keep their device for several years.

With the new 16GB RAM variant, the OnePlus 15R becomes an even stronger option in India’s premium smartphone market. It combines a high-refresh-rate display, powerful Snapdragon performance, a large battery, fast charging, and long software support, all while staying below the price of the top-tier OnePlus 15.
