iFlytek Air 3 Series Debuts With Android 16, E Ink Displays, AI Transcription, and LTE Option
iFlytek has introduced its latest lineup of digital notebooks in China, targeting professionals, students, and frequent note-takers who want a paper-like writing experience with modern productivity tools. The new iFlytek Air 3 series includes three models: the Air 3, Air 3 Neo, and Air 3 Pro.
All three devices are designed around an 8.2-inch monochrome E Ink display, offering a sharp 1920 × 1440 resolution and a 24-level adjustable front light for comfortable reading and writing in different lighting conditions. The screens also support a Wacom EMR stylus, making the tablets suitable for handwriting, sketching, document markup, and digital note-taking.
Unlike some E Ink notebooks that use a wider side bezel for grip, the iFlytek Air 3 series uses slim, nearly uniform bezels on all four sides. This gives the tablets a cleaner and more balanced look while keeping the design compact and modern.
The Air 3 and Air 3 Pro are powered by an unnamed octa-core processor paired with a 4 TOPS NPU, suggesting stronger support for AI-powered features such as transcription and translation. The standard Air 3 comes with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, while the Air 3 Pro upgrades storage to 64GB while keeping the same 4GB of RAM.
The more affordable Air 3 Neo uses a quad-core processor and includes 4GB of RAM with 32GB of storage. Despite being the entry-level model, it still keeps many of the core features found across the series.
Each iFlytek Air 3 model includes a 5MP rear camera designed for scanning documents. This can be useful for professionals who need to quickly digitize paperwork, meeting notes, contracts, receipts, or study materials.
One of the biggest differences between the models is connectivity. The Air 3 Pro includes a SIM card slot for mobile internet access, making it the most versatile option for users who need to stay connected while traveling or working away from Wi-Fi. All three models support Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.4.
The tablets also include microphones and quad speakers, strengthening their role as productivity-focused digital notebooks. iFlytek has equipped the Air 3 series with features such as audio recording, real-time transcription, automatic translation, and live conversation translation. The devices can also identify up to three speakers during recording, which may be especially useful for meetings, interviews, lectures, and group discussions.
All three models ship with Android 16 out of the box and support multiple document formats, making them more flexible than simple e-readers. Users can read, annotate, organize, and manage files directly on the device.
Battery capacity is the same across the lineup, with each model packing a 2,600mAh battery that charges through USB-C. Since E Ink displays are generally more power-efficient than traditional LCD or OLED screens, the Air 3 series should be well suited for long reading and note-taking sessions.
Pricing for the iFlytek Air 3 series starts at ¥2,499, which is approximately $368 or €316, for the Air 3 Neo. The standard Air 3 is priced at ¥2,999, roughly $441 or €379. The Air 3 Pro is the premium model, priced at ¥3,599, around $530 or €455.
The Air 3 and Air 3 Neo are available in Light Gray, while the Air 3 Pro comes in Coffee and Light Gray color options. Each model includes a leather case and a Wacom EMR pen in the box.
For now, the iFlytek Air 3 series is available only in China. With its E Ink display, stylus support, Android 16 software, AI transcription, translation tools, document scanning, and optional LTE connectivity, the lineup is clearly aimed at users who want more than a basic digital notebook.
