The 2026 Taipei Auto Show is set to open on December 31, and Hyundai’s Taiwan general agent, Nanyang Industrial, is heading into the event with an upbeat outlook for the local auto industry. The company believes Taiwan’s new car market will continue to expand, projecting total new vehicle sales will rise past 410,000 units in 2025.
Against that backdrop, Nanyang Industrial has also outlined its own ambitions for the year ahead. The distributor has set a full-year sales target of 21,000 Hyundai vehicles, signaling confidence that demand will remain strong as Taiwan’s car market grows.
With the Taipei Auto Show serving as one of the region’s biggest automotive stages, the timing is strategic. Consumer attention typically intensifies around major auto events, where brands and distributors highlight their latest offerings and sales strategies. For Hyundai in Taiwan, the show’s opening at year-end positions the company to capitalize on renewed interest in new models and ownership trends as buyers plan their next purchases.
The takeaway is clear: Taiwan’s overall new car market is expected to climb in 2025, and Hyundai’s local distributor is setting aggressive goals to capture a larger share of that growth, aiming for 21,000 vehicles sold over the full year.
