Huawei Unveils Mate 70 Pro Plus and a Trio of High-End Smartphones

Huawei has just unveiled its impressive Mate 70 series, introducing three dynamic models that promise to enhance your photography experience. Each phone in this series is equipped with a 50 MP primary camera, featuring a variable aperture ranging from f/1.4 to f/4.0, and a 24 mm equivalent focal length. Additionally, all three boast a 40 MP ultra-wide-angle camera, offering a 13 mm equivalent focal length, an expansive 120˚ field of view, and an f/2.2 aperture.

However, there’s a twist when it comes to the telephoto capabilities. The standard Mate 70 model features a 12 MP camera with a 5x telephoto zoom, while the more advanced Mate 70 Pro and Mate 70 Pro Plus elevate the experience with a powerful 48 MP sensor, offering 3.5x optical zoom.

Despite the telephoto differences, what sets these models apart further is their battery capacities. The Mate 70 Pro Plus leads with a robust 5,700 mAh battery, ensuring longer usage times, while the Mate 70 Pro and Mate 70 closely follow with 5,500 mAh and 5,300 mAh capacities, respectively. The charging prowess of these devices is notable as well. The Mate 70 Pro and Pro Plus support high-speed charging with up to 80 W wirelessly and 100 W via a wired connection. In contrast, the Mate 70 supports 50 W wireless and 66 W wired charging.

Huawei remains discreet about the chipsets powering these devices, but early indications point to the use of the Kirin 9020 processor. As of now, it remains uncertain whether these cutting-edge phones will reach the global market. For those considering these new models, the Mate 70 is priced at approximately CNY 5,499 (around $758), the Mate 70 Pro at CNY 6,499 (around $896), and the top-tier Mate 70 Pro Plus at CNY 8,499 (around $1,172).
