Huawei AI Glasses Unveiled: 12MP Camera, 12-Hour Battery, and Three Stylish Designs

Huawei has officially introduced its latest wearable eyewear, the Huawei AI Glasses, bringing meaningful upgrades that make them feel far more practical than the previous generation. Announced alongside new smartphones and smartwatches at Huawei’s Pura mega launch event, these smart glasses focus on comfort, better audio, smarter AI features, and—most notably—a built-in camera.

A lighter, more wearable design made for all-day comfort
Huawei says the Huawei AI Glasses were redesigned to feel better on the face for long sessions. Built with a titanium alloy frame and improved weight distribution, they weigh about 35.5 grams. The temples are also impressively slim at just 6.25mm thick, helping them look less like a bulky gadget and more like normal eyewear. For everyday durability, they’re rated IP54 for dust and water resistance, meaning they should handle sweat and light splashes without issue.

Three styles to match how you wear glasses
Rather than offering one look, Huawei is releasing the AI Glasses in three variants:

Titanium Silver Gray: a semi-rimless/half-rim optical glasses style
Shimmering Silver: a classic full-rim sunglasses design
Modern Black: a full-rim optical glasses design

This variety makes it easier to choose a version that fits your lifestyle—whether you want prescription-ready frames or a sunglasses-focused option.

On-device AI with voice activation that works in noisy places
The Huawei AI Glasses run on a proprietary AI chip using a dual-engine architecture. The built-in AI assistant can be activated by voice or via a button, and Huawei claims it’s designed to perform well even in loud environments by filtering background noise. It’s also intended to recognize speech accurately even when you’re speaking quietly, down to around 47dB.

A 12MP camera for photos, video, and livestream flexibility
The headline upgrade is the addition of a camera. Huawei built in a 12MP 1/2.8-inch sensor capable of recording video at 1920 x 1440 resolution at 30fps, and capturing still images at 4092 x 3072.

The camera includes features aimed at improving real-world results, including:

HDR Vivid Standard support, which Huawei says is a first for AI smart glasses
AI RAW support for sharper output
Automatic correction if the glasses are tilted when you shoot
Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS)
A low-light mode for darker scenes

Captured photos and videos are automatically uploaded to the gallery on the connected smartphone. Huawei also says you can preview captured images on a smartwatch, and that livestreaming can smoothly switch between your phone camera and the glasses camera—useful for hands-free angles during live video.

Improved speakers, clearer calls, and stronger connectivity
Huawei also upgraded the audio experience. The speakers now use the Huawei Histen algorithm to improve clarity for playback, while a triple-microphone array helps capture voices more accurately.

Connectivity is another focus. Huawei claims the updated antenna design leads to faster Wi‑Fi speeds, stronger signal transmission and reception, and better resistance to interference—especially in crowded areas where wireless congestion is common.

Everyday smart features: payments, smart home, and translation
Beyond camera and audio improvements, the Huawei AI Glasses include several practical features that push them beyond basic audio glasses. They support contactless payments, smart home controls, and live translation—positioning them as a multipurpose wearable rather than a single-use accessory.

Battery life, charging speed, and key specs
The Huawei AI Glasses include a 258mAh battery that Huawei says can deliver up to 12 hours of use. Charging takes about 45 minutes, and the magnetic charging connector allows the glasses to be used while charging.

Other notable specs and features include:

64GB storage
Bluetooth 6.0
Wi‑Fi 6
Bluetooth Multipoint
Touch controls
Wear detection

Huawei AI Glasses price and availability
Pricing starts at CNY 2499 (about $367/€311) for the Titanium Silver Gray and Modern Black versions. The Shimmering Silver sunglasses model costs CNY 2899 (about $425/€361). Huawei has already opened pre-orders, with a release date set for April 25.

With a lighter titanium design, a feature-packed 12MP camera, stronger audio performance, and practical daily tools like translation and payments, the Huawei AI Glasses aim to be one of the more complete smart glasses options currently available—especially for users who want an AI wearable that looks closer to traditional eyewear.
