HP’s unnamed Nvidia RTX Spark mini PC could be a powerful Mac Studio rival
HP may have just shown off one of the most intriguing mini PCs of Computex 2026, even if the company has not officially given it a name yet. The compact desktop is powered by Nvidia’s new RTX Spark platform and appears to target creators, AI developers, video editors, and prosumers who want workstation-class performance in a small form factor.
While HP’s OmniDesk Mini Desktop PC received attention as a “Mini AI PC” with Thunderbolt Share support, the company’s RTX Spark mini PC quietly appeared in preview form. Despite the low-key reveal, the system could become one of HP’s most interesting desktop launches, especially for users looking for a Windows-based alternative to Apple’s Mac Mini and Mac Studio.
The most unusual part of the reveal is the naming situation. HP has confirmed that an RTX Spark-powered mini PC is in development, but the company has not shared an official product name. The unit shown at Computex also appears to be an early prototype, as the ports were not labeled and the final design details remain unclear.
Even so, the design already stands out. Compared with other RTX Spark mini PCs introduced by major PC brands, HP’s version appears to take a bolder visual approach. It looks compact, modern, and clearly aimed at professional users rather than basic home-office buyers.
The port selection is where things get especially interesting. HP’s RTX Spark mini PC includes a familiar set of connections, but it also appears to feature two Nvidia ConnectX-7 ports. These are high-end networking ports typically associated with data-center and professional AI workloads, making their appearance on a mini PC particularly notable.
The visible connectivity includes four USB-C ports, an HDMI port, a LAN port, a power button, and two large Nvidia ConnectX-7 ports. At least one of the USB-C ports is expected to support power delivery or charging, although HP has not yet confirmed the final specifications.
It is still unknown whether the ConnectX-7 ports will be included on the retail version. They may be limited to the prototype shown at Computex, or HP could be preparing multiple configurations for different types of buyers. That uncertainty may also explain why the product does not yet have an official name.
Under the hood, the Nvidia RTX Spark platform is designed to deliver serious performance for AI, content creation, and advanced productivity. The platform is expected to offer up to 1 petaflop of AI performance using FP4 precision, up to 128GB of LPDDR5X unified memory, and up to 300GB/s of memory bandwidth.
Graphics performance comes from Nvidia’s Blackwell architecture, with configurations reaching up to 6,144 CUDA cores. The CPU side is expected to include up to 20 Arm-based cores using Nvidia’s Grace microarchitecture. Together, these specs position RTX Spark devices as compact machines built for demanding workloads rather than ordinary desktop tasks.
For creators, HP’s mini PC could support workflows such as 12K video editing, 3D rendering, AI model development, and high-resolution media production. Nvidia is also positioning RTX Spark hardware as capable of 1440p AAA gaming, which could make these mini PCs appealing to users who want one compact system for both work and entertainment.
However, HP has not yet announced pricing or availability. That remains one of the biggest unanswered questions. Given the high-end components, large memory options, and possible professional networking hardware, this mini PC is unlikely to be a budget product. It will most likely compete in the premium compact desktop category.
The broader RTX Spark rollout has been somewhat unusual. Several major PC makers have shown new RTX Spark laptops and mini PCs at Computex 2026, but detailed product pages, launch dates, and pricing information remain limited. That is surprising, considering how important these systems could be for the next generation of AI PCs.
If HP gets the final product right, its RTX Spark mini PC could become a compelling choice for professionals who want powerful AI and creative performance without moving to a full-size workstation. With up to 128GB of unified memory, advanced Nvidia graphics, and a compact desktop design, it has the potential to challenge some of the most popular small-form-factor computers on the market.
