HP ZBook X 16 G2ig Debuts With RTX 5060 Graphics, Intel Core Ultra CPUs, and Support for 128GB RAM
HP has introduced a new high-performance business laptop in China, the ZBook X 16 G2ig, aimed at professionals who need strong computing power in a sleek workstation-style design. With Intel Core Ultra processors, dedicated Nvidia RTX graphics, a high-resolution 16-inch display, and support for massive memory upgrades, this laptop is built for demanding workloads such as content creation, engineering, AI development, multitasking, and business productivity.
The HP ZBook X 16 G2ig is available in several configurations. The entry-level model comes with the Intel Core Ultra 5 336H, while the mid-tier version features the Core Ultra 7 356H. For users who want maximum performance, HP is offering a top-end configuration powered by the Intel Core Ultra 9 386H.
Although these processors do not include Intel’s Arc B390 integrated graphics, the laptop does not really need it. Every configuration is paired with the Nvidia RTX 5060 Laptop GPU, giving the ZBook X 16 G2ig a significant graphics advantage for creative applications, GPU-accelerated workflows, 3D rendering, video editing, and local AI tasks.
On the display side, HP has equipped the laptop with a 16-inch IPS panel featuring a 2560 x 1600 resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. The 16:10 aspect ratio gives users more vertical space compared to traditional 16:9 screens, which is useful for editing documents, working with timelines, coding, browsing large spreadsheets, or managing multiple windows.
HP claims the display covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, making it a promising option for users who need accurate and vibrant colors. While HDR support is not included, the screen offers a brightness rating of 400 nits, which should be sufficient for most indoor work environments.
Despite its relatively slim profile, the ZBook X 16 G2ig packs a large 96Wh battery. That should help deliver solid battery life during lighter and moderate workloads, especially for professionals who need to work away from a desk. HP also includes fast charging support, with the company claiming the battery can reach 50% in around 30 minutes.
Connectivity is another strong point. The laptop includes two Thunderbolt 4 ports, one HDMI 2.1 port, two 5Gbps USB Type-A ports, and an Ethernet port. A SIM slot is also included, making it more useful for business users who need mobile connectivity while traveling.
For wireless connections, the HP ZBook X 16 G2ig supports WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0, giving it access to the latest networking standards. Other notable features include a MIL-STD-810H durability rating, a dual-fan cooling system, and a 5MP AI-enhanced camera for clearer video calls and online meetings.
Memory support is one of the most interesting parts of this machine. While HP is selling the laptop with up to 32GB of RAM in its current configurations, the system supports up to 128GB of DDR5 memory. That makes it particularly appealing for users who run heavy professional software, virtual machines, large datasets, or local AI models.
Pricing in China starts at CNY 12,999, which is roughly $1,920, for the base model with the Core Ultra 5 336H and 16GB of RAM. The highest-end model, featuring the Core Ultra 9 386H and 32GB of RAM, is priced at CNY 18,999, or about $2,806.
HP has not yet confirmed whether the ZBook X 16 G2ig will launch globally. However, given the company’s recent international rollout of other ZBook models, there is a chance this RTX 5060-powered workstation laptop could eventually reach more markets. For professionals looking for a powerful 16-inch business laptop with modern connectivity, strong graphics performance, and huge RAM expansion potential, the ZBook X 16 G2ig could be one to watch.
