HP has expanded its EliteBook lineup with the global launch of a new 16-inch EliteBook 8 G2a model powered by AMD Ryzen AI processors. The laptop is aimed at business users and professionals who want a larger display, modern AI-focused performance, and enterprise-ready hardware in a premium productivity machine.
In the Eurozone, pricing begins at €2,329 for the entry-level configuration. This version includes an AMD Ryzen AI 5 435 processor, 16 GB of RAM, a 512 GB SSD, and a 16-inch IPS display with a 1200p resolution and up to 400 nits of brightness. Interestingly, the same configuration is listed at a much lower £1,285 in the UK, making regional pricing one of the more surprising details of this launch.
In the United States, HP starts the 16-inch EliteBook 8 G2a at $1,799, but the base model there comes with a Ryzen AI 5 Pro 440 instead of the Ryzen AI 5 435. This makes the US configuration slightly different from the European version, especially for buyers comparing processor options across markets.
Higher-end versions are also available. In the Eurozone, the laptop currently reaches €3,399 when configured with the more powerful AMD Ryzen AI 7 450, 32 GB of RAM, and a 1 TB SSD. This model still uses the same 1200p, 400-nit IPS display. A similar configuration is available in the US, although pricing rises significantly to $5,558. Buyers who want even more memory can choose a 64 GB RAM variant, which pushes the US price up to $5,843.
Despite the premium pricing, HP has not yet made every option available. Fully configurable models are not currently offered, and 120 Hz variable refresh rate display panels are also missing for now. That may disappoint users hoping for smoother visuals or more flexibility when choosing specifications.
