HP OmniBook Ultra 16 and OmniBook X 14 Debut With RTX Spark Power, 128GB RAM, and 3K OLED Displays
HP has introduced two new additions to its OmniBook family at IFA 2026, aiming squarely at creators, AI developers, power users, and anyone looking for next-generation laptop performance in a sleek design. The new HP OmniBook Ultra 16 and HP OmniBook X 14 arrive with Nvidia RTX Spark hardware, high-speed unified memory, vibrant OLED screens, and a strong focus on local AI workloads.
One of the biggest highlights is the availability of a new RTX Spark N1X configuration. This version combines an 18-core CPU with a 5,120-core Blackwell RTX GPU, giving buyers a slightly more accessible option compared to the higher-end configuration. For users who want maximum performance, HP will also offer models with a 20-core CPU and a 6,144-core Blackwell RTX GPU.
Both laptops can be configured with up to 128GB of LPDDR5X-9400 memory, making them especially interesting for demanding creative work, heavy multitasking, AI model testing, video editing, 3D workloads, and advanced productivity tasks.
The HP OmniBook Ultra 16 is the larger and more performance-focused model. It supports 32GB, 64GB, or 128GB of LPDDR5X-9400 memory and can be equipped with up to a 2TB PCIe Gen5 NVMe SSD. HP says the top configuration can deliver up to 1 PFLOP of FP4 AI performance, positioning the machine as a powerful option for running local AI models without relying entirely on cloud processing.
Its 16-inch OLED touchscreen is designed to appeal to both professionals and entertainment users. The display features a 2,880 x 1,800 resolution, a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, variable refresh rate support, 500 nits of SDR brightness, and up to 1,100 nits of HDR brightness. It also covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color space and carries VESA DisplayHDR True Black 1000 certification, which should make it a strong fit for visual work, streaming, and gaming.
HP has also equipped the OmniBook Ultra 16 with quad speakers, a 5MP IR webcam, and a haptic touchpad that supports gesture controls for adjusting volume and screen brightness. The laptop uses what HP calls its first “tower hinge and trunk” design in a consumer notebook, created to improve airflow while keeping the body relatively thin.
Despite its performance-focused design, the OmniBook Ultra 16 remains fairly portable. It measures 15.73 mm at the rear and weighs 2.22 kg, or 4.89 pounds. A 99Wh battery powers the device, with HP claiming up to 17 hours of battery life. Charging is handled through a 140W USB-C GaN power adapter.
The HP OmniBook X 14 is the more compact option, but it still carries much of the same next-generation hardware. Like the larger model, it offers the RTX Spark N1X choices, including the 18-core CPU with 5,120 GPU cores and the more powerful 20-core CPU with 6,144 GPU cores. It can also be configured with up to 128GB of LPDDR5X-9400 unified memory.
For storage, HP will offer a mix of PCIe Gen4 and PCIe Gen5 SSD options, with capacities reaching up to 2TB. This gives the smaller model plenty of flexibility for users who need speed and capacity in a travel-friendly machine.
The OmniBook X 14 features a 14-inch OLED display with the same 2,880 x 1,800 resolution as the Ultra 16. It also supports up to a 120Hz refresh rate, variable refresh rate, a fast 0.2 ms response time, 500 nits of SDR brightness, and up to 1,100 nits of HDR brightness. Like the 16-inch model, it offers full DCI-P3 color coverage and DisplayHDR True Black 1000 certification.
The main difference is in the audio setup, as the smaller OmniBook X 14 uses dual speakers instead of the quad-speaker system found in the OmniBook Ultra 16.
Portability is where the HP OmniBook X 14 stands out. It measures 13.53 mm at the rear and weighs 1.71 kg, or 3.77 pounds. Cooling is handled by a dual-fan, dual-heat-pipe thermal system with IR-based thermal management. HP rates the 80Wh battery for up to 15 hours of use, and the laptop also ships with a 140W USB-C GaN charger.
Connectivity is strong across both new OmniBook laptops. Each model includes two 40Gbps USB-C ports with DisplayPort 2.1 and USB Power Delivery, two 10Gbps USB-A ports, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. The larger OmniBook Ultra 16 also adds a microSD card reader, which could be useful for photographers, videographers, and content creators.
HP plans to release both the OmniBook Ultra 16 and OmniBook X 14 this fall. Pricing has not yet been announced, but with RTX Spark hardware, up to 128GB of high-speed memory, premium OLED displays, and advanced AI-focused performance, these laptops are shaping up to be some of HP’s most ambitious OmniBook models yet.
