Honor Unveils New 360W GaN Charger Built for Gaming Laptops

Honor is gearing up to enter the gaming laptop arena in a big way, and the first signs point to a launch built around serious power. The company has confirmed that its first Win-branded gaming laptop will debut in China in April 2026. While the full laptop reveal is still ahead, an Honor executive has already teased a key accessory that’s likely to ship alongside it: a compact 360W GaN power adapter designed to handle high-performance gaming workloads.

What makes this charger especially interesting is that it won’t be limited to Honor’s upcoming Win laptop. According to the company official who shared the early look, the 360W GaN adapter will be sold separately and will also work with other gaming laptops. That’s a notable move, because many high-wattage laptop chargers are bulky, brand-specific power bricks that are inconvenient to travel with or replace. A lighter, more compact 360W alternative could appeal to gamers, creators, and power users who want an easier-to-carry spare charger without giving up charging stability.

In terms of connectivity, Honor’s adapter uses a barrel-style DC port rather than USB-C. That may disappoint users hoping for a universal USB-C solution, but it’s still practical for many gaming laptops that rely on barrel jacks for higher wattage delivery. Honor hasn’t said whether it will provide official converters, although third-party barrel-jack adapters are widely available for people who need to match a specific tip size or convert from USB-C to a compatible barrel format.

Design-wise, the Win 360W charger aims to deliver big power in a relatively small footprint. Honor is using GaN (gallium nitride) along with SiC (silicon carbide) technologies, a combination that can improve efficiency and help reduce heat compared to traditional designs. The goal is clear: maintain stable high-wattage charging while keeping the adapter compact enough to feel like an upgrade over the heavy bricks gamers are used to.

A photo shared by Honor executive Lin Lin indicates the power adapter weighs about 405 grams (roughly 0.89 pounds), which is lighter than many traditional chargers in the same wattage class. For anyone who carries a gaming laptop between home, school, work, or events, that weight reduction could make a real difference over time.

As for the laptop this adapter is expected to pair with, early chatter suggests it’s being positioned as a true high-performance machine rather than a midrange entry. A well-known tipster claims the Win gaming laptop could be configurable with up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU and an Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX. If that configuration holds true, the system could reportedly deliver more than 250W of performance, leaving additional headroom when paired with a 360W charger—useful for sustained loads, peak boosts, and powering the system while charging the battery.

Honor hasn’t announced pricing yet, and there’s no official word on broader availability outside China. Still, with the April 2026 launch window close, more details about the Win gaming laptop and the 360W GaN charger—including cost, exact compatibility, and release timing—should surface soon.
