Honor X8e debuts with 7,700mAh battery, 108MP camera, and rugged water resistance
Honor has quietly introduced a new budget-friendly smartphone, the Honor X8e, through its Azerbaijan website. The device joins the growing Honor X8 series, which already includes models such as the Honor X8d and Honor X8c. While the phone shares several similarities with the Honor X7e Plus 4G, it arrives with its own mix of large-battery endurance, a high-resolution camera, and durable design features.
One of the biggest highlights of the Honor X8e is its massive 7,700mAh battery. This capacity puts it well above many typical budget and mid-range smartphones, making it a strong option for users who prioritize long battery life. The phone also supports 45W wired charging, helping reduce downtime when the device needs to be topped up.
The Honor X8e features a 6.87-inch TFT LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate. That higher refresh rate should make scrolling, animations, and everyday navigation feel smoother. The screen resolution is 1,592 x 720 pixels, while peak brightness can reach up to 1,020 nits in high-brightness mode, which should improve outdoor visibility.
Powering the smartphone is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 processor. Built on a 6nm process, the chip is designed for efficient 4G performance rather than 5G connectivity. The listed model comes with 6GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, offering a generous amount of space for apps, photos, videos, and daily files.
For photography, the Honor X8e is equipped with a 108MP rear camera. This high-resolution sensor is likely aimed at users who want sharper photos in good lighting conditions. On the front, the device includes a 5MP selfie camera for video calls and basic self-portraits.
The phone runs MagicOS 10 based on Android 16, giving it a modern software foundation. Honor has also included a dedicated AI button, which can be used to launch apps and access AI-powered tools more quickly. This feature may appeal to users who want faster shortcuts and smart functions built into the phone experience.
Durability is another key selling point. The Honor X8e carries IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance. These ratings suggest the phone is designed to handle tougher conditions than many standard budget smartphones, including exposure to dust and high-pressure water.
Connectivity options include dual Nano-SIM support, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, and 4G mobile network compatibility. While the lack of 5G may be a drawback for some buyers, the phone appears focused on battery life, durability, and value.
The Honor X8e is available in three color options: Sunrise Orange, Desert Gold, and Velvet Black. The Sunrise Orange finish gives the device a more eye-catching look, while the black and gold versions offer more traditional styling. The phone measures 8.3mm thick and weighs 218.5g, which is understandable given its large battery.
Honor has not officially confirmed the global price of the X8e. However, in Azerbaijan, the 6GB RAM and 256GB storage version has appeared at AZN 819.99, which is approximately $482.
With its huge 7,700mAh battery, 108MP camera, 120Hz display, rugged water resistance ratings, and Android 16-based software, the Honor X8e could attract buyers looking for a durable 4G smartphone with strong endurance. Its final appeal will depend heavily on regional pricing and availability.
