HMD Unveils Budget 5G Phone With Smooth 120Hz Display and Massive 6,000mAh Battery

HMD Vibe2 Pro launches in India with 5G, 120Hz display, 6,000mAh battery, and Android 16

HMD has expanded its Vibe smartphone lineup in India with the launch of the HMD Vibe2 Pro, a budget-friendly 5G phone aimed at users who want a large display, long battery life, and reliable everyday performance without spending too much.

The new HMD Vibe2 Pro arrives after the standard Vibe2 model and brings several notable upgrades for its price segment. It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, a 5G-ready processor designed to handle daily tasks, social media, streaming, casual gaming, and multitasking with ease. The phone comes with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. For users who need more space for photos, videos, apps, and downloads, HMD has also included microSD card support.

One of the biggest highlights of the HMD Vibe2 Pro is its 6.78-inch LCD display. The screen offers Full HD+ resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, making scrolling, animations, and supported games feel more fluid. This large display should appeal to users who enjoy watching videos, browsing the web, or using their phone for long entertainment sessions.

For photography, the HMD Vibe2 Pro features a 64MP Sony IMX682 main camera. This sensor is paired with a 2MP macro camera for close-up shots. On the front, the phone includes a 13MP selfie camera for video calls, selfies, and social media content. While the camera setup is simple, the high-resolution main sensor gives the device a strong advantage in the affordable 5G smartphone category.

Battery life is another key selling point. The HMD Vibe2 Pro packs a large 6,000mAh battery, which should comfortably last through a full day of regular use and may stretch longer depending on usage habits. The phone supports 33W wired charging, helping users top up the battery faster than standard budget chargers.

On the software side, the HMD Vibe2 Pro runs Android 16 out of the box. HMD has confirmed two years of security updates for the device. However, the company has not mentioned whether the phone will receive major Android version upgrades, which may be an important point for buyers who prioritize long-term software support.

The smartphone also includes a useful set of everyday features. It comes with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, and 5G connectivity. The inclusion of a headphone jack and expandable storage gives the phone extra practicality, especially for users who still prefer wired audio or need additional storage flexibility.

The HMD Vibe2 Pro will be available in three color options: Aqua Green, Cosmic Purple, and Silver Mist. In India, pricing starts at ₹14,999 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. The higher-end model with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage is priced at ₹16,999.

Sales are scheduled to begin on Flipkart from October 8. With its 120Hz display, 5G support, large battery, expandable storage, and competitive pricing, the HMD Vibe2 Pro is positioned as an attractive option for buyers looking for an affordable 5G smartphone in India.
