HMD Skyline 2 leak points to major camera upgrades, Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 power, and Qi2 wireless charging
The HMD Skyline 2 is shaping up to be a much more exciting upgrade than earlier rumors suggested. While HMD has not officially announced the phone yet, a fresh leak claims the upcoming device is still planned for launch this year and could arrive with improved cameras, a faster chipset, and several premium features aimed at users who want a stylish, repair-friendly Android phone.
The original HMD Skyline launched nearly two years ago, and anticipation for its successor has been building for months. Previous leaks suggested the Skyline 2 would bring modest improvements, but the latest information points to a more capable device with stronger performance and a more impressive camera setup.
According to the new leak, the HMD Skyline 2 will feature a 144Hz OLED display, which should make scrolling, gaming, and everyday navigation feel extremely smooth. This high refresh rate could help the phone stand out in the mid-range smartphone market, especially for users who value fluid visuals and a premium screen experience.
One of the biggest upgrades is said to be the processor. Earlier reports claimed the phone would use the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, but the latest details suggest HMD has switched to the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4. If accurate, this should bring better overall performance, improved efficiency, and stronger support for demanding apps, multitasking, and mobile gaming.
The chipset is expected to be paired with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM, giving buyers options depending on their performance needs. Storage is tipped at 256GB, with support for expandable storage through a microSD card up to 1TB. That could be a major advantage for users who still prefer keeping photos, videos, music, and documents locally instead of relying only on cloud storage.
The camera system may also receive a significant boost. The HMD Skyline 2 is rumored to include a 108MP main rear camera, continuing the focus on high-resolution photography. However, the biggest change could be in the secondary cameras. Instead of the previously rumored 13MP ultrawide and 50MP telephoto combination, the latest leak claims the phone will use two 50MP rear sensors alongside the main camera.

Color options are expected to include Black, Yellow, and Cyan. The design may remain close to the original HMD Skyline, despite earlier claims that the successor could look different. If true, HMD may be choosing to refine the existing design rather than completely reinvent it.
There is still no confirmed launch date for the HMD Skyline 2, but the phone is expected to arrive sometime this year. It is also unclear whether other rumored versions, such as the Skyline 2 GT and Skyline 2 Business Edition, are still in development or have been canceled.
