Exciting news has emerged about the successor to the HMD Aura, a budget-friendly smartphone making waves in markets like Australia and Kenya. Leaked details indicate that the upcoming HMD Aura 2 promises significant upgrades and some nifty new features.
Just four months after the original HMD Aura’s announcement, insider @smashx_60 has shared enticing information about the HMD Aura 2. According to these leaks, the next-gen smartphone will boast a 6.56-inch LCD display, maintaining the size of its predecessor but upping the game with a 90Hz refresh rate, a notable improvement from the previous 60Hz.
Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the dual rear cameras on the Aura 2, including a 13MP primary sensor and a 0.8MP secondary lens. Selfie lovers aren’t left out either, with the front camera receiving a boost to 8MP, up from 5MP. Under the hood, the Aura 2 is expected to run on the more robust UNISOC T603 processor, paired with 4GB of RAM and options for 64GB or 128GB of internal storage.
For those needing extra space, a MicroSD card slot is available. The phone also retains the much-loved audio jack, USB-C port, OTG support, and boasts an IP52 dust and water resistance rating. In a functional shift, the fingerprint scanner will move to the side, abandoning the rear-mounted scanner of its predecessor. Powering all these features is a solid 5,000mAh battery, ensuring longevity.
Available in eye-catching Cyan and the sleek Meteor Grey, the HMD Aura 2 is set to turn heads. As for the launch date, price, and availability, specifics are still under wraps. However, given that the original HMD Aura was priced at roughly $100, it’s reasonable to anticipate a slight price hike considering the enhanced features of the Aura 2.
Stay tuned for more updates as we inch closer to the official unveiling of what could be one of the most exciting budget smartphones of the year.
