Squanch Games has announced a release date change for the Nintendo Switch 2 version of High on Life 2, pushing the game back a few months to give the team more time to polish the experience.
Originally planned for an April launch on Switch 2, the sci-fi comedy shooter will now arrive on July 1, 2026. The developer says the delay is about adding that extra “elbow grease” to ensure the Switch 2 port meets the studio’s quality bar—and players’ expectations—before it hits the new console.
While Switch 2 owners will need to wait a bit longer, High on Life 2 is already available on other platforms. The game launched in February for PC (including Steam, the Microsoft Store, and the Epic Games Store), as well as Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.
Squanch Games also shared important preorder details for anyone who already reserved the Switch 2 edition. All digital preorders will be canceled automatically. Physical preorders, however, will remain active, with shipping expected in July to line up with the new release window.
The studio thanked players for their patience and support, and said more updates will be shared as the updated High on Life 2 Nintendo Switch 2 release date gets closer.
