Halide Mark III Transforms iPhone Photography with Sharper Images and Truly Natural RAW Outputs

Halide Mark III is on the way, and it’s shaping up to be a meaningful upgrade for iPhone photographers who want better picture quality without the over-processed “smartphone look.” A preview version is already available inside the app, giving users a chance to test the new features before the full release lands.

One of the headline additions is Process Zero II, a mode designed to keep computational photography to an absolute minimum. The goal is simple: deliver photos that look more natural, with fewer aggressive enhancements and less artificial sharpening. In this new version, Process Zero II also gains support for HDR and RAW captures, which is great news for anyone who wants a more realistic result while still preserving highlight and shadow detail—or prefers maximum editing flexibility in post.

Halide Mark III also introduces a new black-and-white mode called Chroma Noir. Rather than being a basic filter, it’s built on an entirely new image processing pipeline. The focus is on reproducing light in a way that’s closer to how it appears on analog film, aiming for richer tonal transitions and a more classic monochrome character.

When it comes to pricing, Halide Mark III is free for existing Halide Mark II users. For new users, Halide is available on the App Store via a $19.99-per-year subscription or a one-time purchase priced at $59.
