GTA 6 PS5 Disc Listing Appears Online, But There’s a Big Catch
Excitement around GTA 6 is already massive, and one thing many fans still want is a traditional physical copy for PlayStation 5 or Xbox. That demand has now led to an unusual listing from a Chinese-language seller advertising what appears to be a GTA 6 PS5 disc set. However, collectors should look closely before getting excited: the discs are not playable.
The listing shows a “Commemorative Set Model” for GTA 6, with both Standard Edition and Ultimate Edition-style packaging. The images include PS5 cases, disc artwork, and what looks like a content card inside the box. At first glance, it resembles the kind of physical release many fans have been hoping for, but the product is described as a collectible rather than an official game disc.
In other words, this is not a real GTA 6 physical edition that can be installed or played on a console. The Blu-ray discs appear to be decorative items made for display, aimed at collectors who want a boxed version on their shelf even if the actual game remains digital.
The timing makes sense. As the GTA 6 release approaches, players are closely watching for any sign of an official PS5 or Xbox disc version. Pre-order display cases have already appeared in some retail locations around the world, adding to speculation about how Rockstar and Take-Two will handle the game’s physical launch. So far, though, there has been no confirmed playable disc edition for any region.
The collectible set also raises questions about licensing. The listing reportedly claims the artwork was created by a design group called Lionheart, but there is no clear confirmation that the product is officially approved by Rockstar or Take-Two Interactive. Without that confirmation, buyers should treat the item as an unofficial display collectible.
There is also uncertainty around GTA 6 availability in mainland China. Grand Theft Auto 5 was never officially released there, though GTA 6 pre-orders are expected in markets such as Hong Kong, and Chinese language support may be available for players in regions like Taiwan and Singapore.
For fans who love physical games, the situation is frustrating. A real GTA 6 PS5 disc would likely be in high demand, especially among collectors who prefer owning boxed releases. But the gaming industry continues to move toward digital distribution, and major publishers are increasingly offering premium editions without discs.
At the moment, the closest official-style collector option is merchandise-focused rather than game-focused. The Vice City Box includes items such as a Macca The Gator figure, Oakley sunglasses, and other themed collectibles, but it does not include a PlayStation or Xbox game code.
The bottom line is simple: the Chinese GTA 6 PS5 disc set may look impressive on a shelf, but it is not a playable copy of the game. Until Rockstar confirms an official physical release, fans hoping for a real GTA 6 disc should be cautious with listings that promise boxed editions ahead of launch.
