GrilTi Portable Titanium Camp Grill Promises Fast Setup and Modular Outdoor Cooking
Septem Studio is bringing a fresh idea to campsite cooking with GrilTi, a lightweight titanium camp grill designed for campers, hikers, overlanders, and outdoor cooks who want a compact grill without sacrificing versatility.
The grill is currently being funded through Kickstarter and focuses on three key selling points: portability, modular design, and quick assembly. Instead of dealing with bulky barbecue gear, GrilTi folds flat for transport and can reportedly be set up in about 30 seconds using interlocking slots rather than bolts or tools.
Each GrilTi module works as a complete standalone grill, with its own cooking surface and legs. One module weighs around 1.5 kg, or 3.3 lb, and is designed to handle meals for two to four people. For larger groups, additional modules can be connected to expand the cooking area, making it suitable for both solo trips and group camping.
When folded, the grill measures 314 x 345 x 8 mm, or 12.4 x 13.3 x 0.3 inches, making it slim enough to slide into a pack or camping storage setup. Once assembled, it measures 265 x 314 x 288 mm, or 10.4 x 12.4 x 11.3 inches. The main cooking structure is made from titanium, while the legs use lightweight aluminum. According to the maker, the materials are rust-proof, which should make the grill better suited for repeated outdoor use.
One of the more practical features is the split cooking surface. GrilTi combines a standard grill section with a solid titanium plate, giving users more flexibility when preparing meals outdoors. The grill area can be used for classics like sausages, skewers, vegetables, or steak, while the solid plate is better suited for frying, searing, or cooking foods that might fall through open grates.
There is also a separate warming tray intended to keep cooked food hot without continuing to burn it. That could be especially useful when cooking several items at different speeds, or when preparing meals for multiple people at camp.
GrilTi supports several fuel types, including charcoal, briquettes, wood chunks, and firewood. The lower charcoal tray can be removed for easier ash cleanup, which should make the post-meal process less messy. Removing the cooking panel also allows the unit to function as a small campfire, adding another layer of usefulness for campers who want one piece of gear to serve multiple purposes.
The main drawback appears to be heat control. Unlike larger portable grills with adjustable vents or advanced temperature systems, GrilTi relies on removable side panels to manage airflow. That may be enough for simple campsite meals, but cooks who want precise temperature control for more demanding grilling may find it limited.
Early pricing for the GrilTi starts at £139, or about US$188, for one set. The planned retail price is £225, or about US$305. Shipping is currently expected to begin in mid-December if the campaign reaches its goals and production stays on schedule.
As with any crowdfunded product, buyers should keep in mind that there are risks. Delivery timelines can change, final production units may differ from prototypes, and performance may not always match early claims. However, Septem Studio has completed multiple previous crowdfunding campaigns, which may give potential backers more confidence than a first-time project.
For campers looking for a compact titanium grill that packs flat, sets up quickly, and can grow with added modules, GrilTi could be an appealing option. Its lightweight build, multi-fuel support, and combination grill-and-griddle surface make it a clever outdoor cooking system, even if heat control remains its biggest limitation.
