Govee is expanding its smart lighting lineup with the new 21-inch Smart Ceiling Light Ultra, an upgraded version of its popular ceiling light designed for both creative effects and everyday room illumination.
What makes the Ceiling Light Ultra stand out is its built-in pixel matrix made up of 616 individually addressable LEDs. That means the light can go far beyond a simple glow: it can project detailed, customizable lighting effects onto your ceiling or walls, with each pixel controlled separately. Users can display pixel art, themed motifs, and animated visuals—ideal for gaming rooms, bedrooms, living spaces, or any setup where you want lighting that feels more personal than a standard fixture.
To make those custom designs easier to create, Govee includes AI Lighting Bot 2.0, which can generate content based on text prompts and other inputs. If you’d rather not build effects from scratch, the light also comes with around 100 preset scenes along with music-reactive modes that sync lighting changes to what you’re listening to.
It’s not only about effects, though. The Govee Smart Ceiling Light Ultra is also built to function as a primary room light, with the company emphasizing more natural-looking illumination and adjustments that can shift based on the time of day. For brightness, it reaches up to 5,000 lumens, making it suitable for lighting larger rooms as well as creating vibrant color displays when you want a more dramatic look.
On the smart home side, the Ceiling Light Ultra includes the connectivity features many buyers now expect. It supports Matter for broader smart home compatibility and can be controlled with voice assistants such as Amazon Alexa and Google Home, making it easier to integrate into routines and multi-device setups.
