GMKtec Unveils EVO-T2 Mini PC With Panther Lake Power, Launching March 30 for $1,899

GMKtec is about to roll out its fastest Intel-based mini PC to a global audience. The new GMKtec EVO-T2 series launches worldwide on March 30 at 8 am PST, aiming to deliver high-end AI computing and surprisingly capable gaming performance in a compact system that doesn’t rely on a built-in discrete GPU.

At the heart of the EVO-T2 is Intel’s latest Panther Lake platform, also referred to as Core Ultra Series 3. GMKtec says buyers will be able to choose between two processors: the Core Ultra X7 358H or the Core Ultra X9 388H. Both chips are listed with a 16-core, 16-thread layout using a hybrid configuration of 4 performance cores, 8 efficiency cores, and 4 low-power efficiency cores. The headline number, however, is AI performance: up to 180 TOPS when combining CPU, NPU, and GPU capability, positioning the EVO-T2 as a strong option for local AI workloads and on-device inference.

Memory and storage are clearly aimed at power users. GMKtec is launching the EVO-T2 with 64 GB of LPDDR5X running at 8533 MT/s, along with a 1 TB SSD. For anyone planning larger projects or heavier datasets, storage expandability is a major selling point: the system supports up to 16 TB via dual NVMe slots, including one PCIe 5.0 slot and one PCIe 4.0 slot. At launch, GMKtec hasn’t confirmed any other RAM or storage configurations, so the initial focus appears to be a single high-spec SKU.

Integrated graphics are also a key part of the pitch. GMKtec lists Intel Arc B390 iGPU performance as being comparable to RTX 4050-class GPUs, which could make the EVO-T2 appealing for 1080p gaming, creative work, and GPU-accelerated tasks—especially for users who want a small PC without the size, noise, and power demands of a full-sized graphics card. And for those who do want desktop-class graphics later, the EVO-T2 includes OCuLink support, enabling external GPU expansion.

Pricing starts at $1,899 for the 64 GB RAM and 1 TB SSD configuration, and GMKtec is offering an early-subscriber discount of $60 (or £60). That brings the launch price down to $1,839 (or £1,419). There’s a catch: the first batch is limited to just 50 units, so early availability may disappear quickly. GMKtec hasn’t shared timing for a second batch yet.

Beyond raw specs, GMKtec is positioning the EVO-T2 as a mini PC built for practical AI and business use, not just benchmarks. The company highlights a hybrid AI approach (local plus cloud) that it claims can reduce token costs by up to 70%, along with support for Phison aiDAPTIV+ AI SSD technology intended to speed up AI deployment and improve efficiency. With its mix of high-end memory, PCIe 5.0 storage support, strong integrated graphics, and optional external GPU expansion, the EVO-T2 targets AI developers, creators, and small-to-medium business deployments that need serious performance in a small footprint.
