Asus is bringing touchscreen convenience to a compact gaming-style display with the new ROG Strix XG129C, and early international pricing is now starting to surface. Designed for flexible use with laptops, handhelds, and compact desktop setups, the XG129C stands out by combining touch input, USB-C connectivity, and broad device compatibility in a 24.9-inch class monitor.
One of the key features is 10-point capacitive touch support, which allows multi-finger gestures for smoother navigation, creative work, and faster control in supported apps. Asus also includes seven colour temperature modes, giving users quick options to tune the screen’s look for different tasks such as reading, general productivity, or media viewing.
Connectivity is clearly a major focus. On the left side of the display, the ROG Strix XG129C features two USB Type-C ports. These support DisplayPort Alt Mode for video output over USB-C, and they also provide up to 20 W Power Delivery for charging compatible devices. For simpler setups, the monitor can even be powered directly through USB Type-C at 10 W, which could be useful for minimalist desks, portable workstations, or situations where reducing cable clutter matters.
For users who need more traditional inputs, Asus also includes a full-sized HDMI 1.2 port, helping ensure the monitor can work with a wider range of devices beyond USB-C, including older hardware.
Pricing is already appearing in a couple of regions. In the UK, the ROG Strix XG129C has been listed at £180.05 excluding VAT (about $244), rising to £216.06 with VAT included (about $293). In Australia, it has surfaced at around AUD 300 (about $217) at retail, or roughly AUD 272 (about $197) before the country’s 10% GST is applied.
While these prices may feel high for a compact display, Asus appears to be adding extra value by bundling a one-year AIDA64 Extreme subscription, which is said to be worth $65. That inclusion may appeal to enthusiasts and PC users who like detailed system monitoring and diagnostics, helping soften the impact of the monitor’s premium positioning.
With touchscreen support, dual USB-C ports, Power Delivery, and HDMI connectivity, the Asus ROG Strix XG129C is shaping up to be a versatile option for users who want a modern, touch-enabled monitor that can easily move between different devices and setups.
