Gigabyte Unveils 240Hz 1440p Gaming Monitor Featuring RealBlack Glossy WOLED Display

Gigabyte has quietly expanded its OLED gaming monitor lineup with the new GO27Q24G, a 27-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) display built for fast, high-contrast competitive play and cinematic HDR. This new model targets gamers who want the sharpness of 1440p, the fluidity of a 240 Hz refresh rate, and the visual punch that glossy OLED panels are known for.

At the center of the GO27Q24G is an MLA+ WOLED panel paired with Gigabyte’s RealBlack Glossy finish. Unlike matte coatings that can slightly soften the image or lift blacks in certain lighting, a glossy OLED surface is designed to preserve contrast, deepen black levels, and deliver clearer perceived detail. The result should be richer colors and stronger “pop,” especially in darker scenes where OLED already excels.

Speed is clearly a priority here. The monitor delivers a native 240 Hz refresh rate alongside an ultra-fast 0.03 ms response time, aiming to reduce blur and keep motion crisp in esports and fast-paced shooters. While there’s no dual-mode feature mentioned, the GO27Q24G includes support for both G-Sync and FreeSync, helping minimize screen tearing and stutter across a wide range of frame rates.

HDR performance is another highlight. The GO27Q24G is rated at 275 nits for full-screen brightness (APL 100%) and can reach up to 1,300 nits peak brightness in HDR (APL 1.5%). It also carries a DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification, which signals strong black levels and HDR handling tuned for OLED characteristics.

Gigabyte adds an extra feature called HyperNits, described as an enhanced HDR mode designed to push brightness higher. When using the HDR Peak 1300 mode, HyperNits can boost brightness by up to 30% without clipping highlight detail. Users can choose between HyperNits High (up to a 30% boost) or HyperNits Medium (around a 20% increase), with the Medium setting positioned as a better fit for dark-room viewing.

For color, the monitor is rated to cover 99% of the DCI-P3 gamut, which should appeal to users who want vibrant game visuals and wide-gamut performance for creative work on the side.

Connectivity is well rounded for a modern gaming setup. The GO27Q24G includes two HDMI 2.1 ports, a DisplayPort 1.4 connection, a USB-C port that supports 15 W charging, plus a headphone jack. It also ships with a fully adjustable stand for easier ergonomic positioning.

Gigabyte has already listed the GO27Q24G on its official product pages, but pricing and availability haven’t been revealed yet. For gamers shopping for a 27-inch 1440p OLED monitor with a glossy finish, 240 Hz refresh rate, and high peak HDR brightness, this is one to watch as launch details emerge.
