Gennady, the bizarre hand-drawn roguelike platformer from Feed 64, is officially heading to consoles. The game is now planned for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5, launching alongside the previously announced Windows PC version in Q4 2026.
The PC edition will be published by Feed 64 with Vsoo Games, while Sobaka Studio, known for its work on KIBORG, is handling and publishing the console versions. Sobaka Studio head Dmitry Kachkov described the project as a natural fit, noting the studio’s love for brutal games about hardened fighters trapped in even harsher situations.
Gennady is shaping up to be a wild mix of roguelike platforming, high-speed combat, grotesque humor, and striking hand-drawn visuals. The game drops players into a grim alien meat factory where survival depends on smashing through compressed biomass, tearing apart hostile creatures, and using your own body as a weapon.
Rather than presenting a typical fantasy or sci-fi world, Gennady leans into a surreal, comic-book-inspired nightmare. Its black-and-white art style is brought to life with frame-by-frame animation, while sudden bursts of color highlight the chaos, violence, and strange beauty of its dark pseudo-noir setting.
Gameplay focuses on fast, aggressive movement. Players will brawl with enemies, dash through hazards, and crash into monsters with enough force to rip them apart. The dash system is not just for mobility; it is a core part of combat, turning the protagonist into a deadly projectile capable of carving through the factory’s twisted inhabitants.
One of the game’s key mechanics is Rage Mode, a powerful state that grants extreme speed, devastating attacks, and full invulnerability. The more efficiently players destroy enemies, the longer this mode can last, encouraging nonstop action and skillful play.
As a roguelike platformer, Gennady also includes a wide range of artifacts and upgrades. Players can trade a strange “living currency” for items that may drastically change each run. Character and weapon upgrades allow for different builds, giving players new ways to survive, experiment, and create more chaotic combat strategies.
Each biome ends with a massive boss fight, where enormous creatures put the player’s abilities to the test. These encounters are designed to be brutal, strange, and visually intense, matching the game’s overall tone of absurd body-horror action.
Gennady also features a system called Alley of the Dead, which offers a twist on traditional permadeath. Players may be able to carry collected artifacts into the next run by shooting them off before death, allowing them to begin a future attempt with extra power. However, this depends on whether they still have enough ammunition left, adding another layer of risk and strategy.
With its hand-drawn animation, roguelike structure, violent platforming, and offbeat sense of humor, Gennady looks set to stand out when it arrives in late 2026. Players on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch can expect a strange, stylish, and intense action-platforming experience built around speed, destruction, and survival in one of the weirdest factories imaginable.
