Sobaka Studio has exciting news for gaming enthusiasts as they announce the release date for their highly anticipated indie game, KIBORG. This thrilling cyberpunk roguelite action beat ’em up is set to debut on April 30th for a variety of platforms including Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, and PS5. For those eager to get a sneak peek, a playable demo is available on Steam.
The studio’s head, Dmitry Kachkov, expressed a sense of relief and excitement about the upcoming launch, especially after the significant changes made following feedback from their earlier title, KIBORG: Arena. The burning question remains: “Can you make it out of The Last Ticket alive?”
KIBORG offers a riveting narrative centered around Morgan Lee, a character wrongfully accused of war crimes and doomed to a 1,300-year sentence on an inhospitable prison planet. With no hope of parole or even respite in death, Morgan’s only chance for freedom lies in his performance on “The Last Ticket,” a wildly popular intergalactic game show.
Players begin their journey by utilizing melee attacks to fend off relentless waves of enemies. As the game progresses, they can acquire an arsenal of ranged weapons, from basic pistols to advanced futuristic guns. The gameplay requires strategic maneuvers, allowing players to dodge incoming attacks or time their blocks perfectly to repel adversaries, all while managing their energy levels.
The game show’s grotesque host, Volkov, rewards Morgan with cybernetic enhancements that amplify his melee prowess and allow him to execute devastating combos. These upgrades also unlock special abilities, such as rocket-powered dash punches and electrifying shockwaves, providing a tactical edge in battle.
Each failed escape attempt only benefits Morgan, as the currency earned can be used for permanent upgrades. As players persist, they accumulate advantages that could finally lead Morgan to his much-desired freedom, albeit at a potentially high personal cost.
As the countdown to launch begins, gamers around the world are surely eager to dive into KIBORG’s challenging and dynamic world.
