GeForce RTX 5050 GPUs Appear on Newegg But Remain Unavailable

The recently launched GeForce RTX 5050 has captured attention, but getting your hands on one is proving to be a challenge. While several custom editions from major brands like ZOTAC, MSI, ASUS, and GIGABYTE are listed on platforms like Newegg, these coveted GPUs are nowhere to be found on the shelves.

Despite the fact that the prices start at an enticing $249, availability is almost nonexistent. If you’re looking at more premium models, like the ASUS PRIME RTX 5050 O8G, prices can climb to $289. Yet, these options remain elusive for eager buyers. Newegg has not started taking pre-orders nor provided any updates on when the cards might become available.

The scarcity isn’t entirely unexpected. The GeForce RTX 5050 was launched by NVIDIA on June 24th, with a retail release set for the latter half of July. This sudden timeline might not have given AIBs sufficient preparation time to ensure steady inventory, leading to the current shortage. Historically speaking, the availability of new GPUs often stabilizes after a few weeks post-launch, a trend we might see continue with the RTX 5050.

While waiting for stock to improve, it’s wise to avoid paying more than the MSRP. The RTX 5050’s price hike to $289 doesn’t offer great value, especially when, for just $10 more, the faster RTX 5060 is an option at various major retailers. Patience might reward you with better deals and availability soon.
