Gears of War: E-Day PC Specs Unveiled — Can Your Rig Survive Emergence Day?

Gears of War: E-Day PC Requirements Revealed: What You Need for 1080p, 1440p, and 4K

Gears of War: E-Day is almost here, and Microsoft has now revealed the official PC system requirements for players planning to jump in at launch. With the game arriving as an Xbox console and PC exclusive, fans finally have a clearer idea of what hardware they’ll need to experience the next major chapter in the Gears franchise.

The good news is that the game appears to support a wide range of PC setups, though players aiming for higher resolutions and smoother performance will need modern hardware, especially if they want to take advantage of advanced visual features like ray tracing and ultrawide support.

For the Medium graphics preset, Gears of War: E-Day targets 1080p resolution at 60 FPS with upscaling enabled. Nvidia users will need at least a GeForce RTX 5050 or RTX 2060, while AMD users will need a Radeon RX 6600 or Radeon RX 9060. On the processor side, the minimum requirement includes an AMD Ryzen 5 2600X, Intel Core i7-6850K, or Intel Core i5-10400.

This setup also requires 12 GB of RAM and 115 GB of SSD storage. That storage requirement is worth noting, as Gears of War: E-Day is clearly a large install, so players may want to clear some space ahead of preload availability.

For players who want a better visual experience, the recommended High preset targets 1440p resolution at 60 FPS or higher, again with upscaling enabled. Nvidia users will need a GeForce RTX 5060 or RTX 3060 Ti, while AMD users should have at least a Radeon RX 6700 XT or Radeon RX 9060 XT.

The CPU requirement also increases at this level. Microsoft recommends an AMD Ryzen 5 5600 or Intel Core i5-11600K, paired with 16 GB of RAM. This preset should offer a strong balance between performance and image quality, making it likely to be the sweet spot for many PC gamers.

For the full Ultra experience, Gears of War: E-Day targets 4K resolution at 60 FPS or higher. This setting demands much stronger hardware, including at least an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT. The recommended CPU for Ultra is an AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Intel Core i7-14700K, or better.

Even with this level of hardware, players will still need to use upscaling technology such as DLSS, FSR, TSR, or XeSS to maintain the targeted frame rate at 4K. That suggests Gears of War: E-Day will be a visually ambitious release, especially at its highest settings.

The Coalition has also confirmed several key PC features for launch. Gears of War: E-Day will support DLSS 4.5, AMD FSR 4, and Intel XeSS 3.0t. DLSS 5 support has not been listed at this time.

The game will also include ray-traced reflections, ray-traced shadows, ray-traced global illumination, and native ultrawide monitor support. These features should make the PC version especially appealing for players with high-end displays and modern graphics cards.

Pre-installs for Gears of War: E-Day begin on September 29 through Xbox on PC and Steam. Players with Game Pass access or pre-orders will be able to start playing early on October 1. Everyone else will be able to join the fight when the game officially launches on October 6.

With scalable settings, support for the latest upscaling technologies, and demanding 4K requirements, Gears of War: E-Day looks set to be one of the more technically impressive PC releases of the year. Whether you are playing at 1080p, 1440p, or 4K, now is the time to check your rig and make sure it is ready for E-Day.
