Garmin Fenix 8 and Fenix 8 Pro receive Beta Version 24.15 with key bug fixes
Garmin has started rolling out Beta Version 24.15 for the Fenix 8 and Fenix 8 Pro, bringing another round of refinements to its premium smartwatch lineup. The update follows the recent Beta Version 24.14 release and focuses mainly on fixing issues that affected activity tracking, maps, health metrics, and workout features.
While the previous beta update introduced a broader list of changes, Garmin’s latest beta build targets seven specific areas. The company has not yet confirmed when the v24.xx software branch will move from beta testing to the stable release channel, but this update suggests Garmin is continuing to polish the experience before a wider rollout.
One of the most notable fixes in Beta Version 24.15 addresses a problem with overnight Heart Rate Variability tracking. Some users who paired their watch with an Index Sleep Monitor found that their overnight HRV average was missing. With this update, Garmin says that issue has now been resolved, improving the reliability of sleep and recovery data.
The update also fixes a map installation bug. In some cases, Garmin Express would report that maps had been installed successfully, even though no maps appeared on the device. This could be frustrating for users who rely on their Fenix 8 or Fenix 8 Pro for navigation, especially during outdoor activities. Beta Version 24.15 is designed to correct that behavior.
Garmin has also addressed a crash that could happen when starting a swim activity. For a smartwatch built for serious fitness tracking, stability during workout launches is essential, so this fix should be welcomed by swimmers using the Fenix 8 series.
Other improvements include a fix for emoji icons overlapping with predictive text, a correction for historical barometer graph data disappearing after a pool swim, and a solution for self-evaluation prompts not appearing correctly in Strength and HIIT workouts when the setting was configured to “Workouts Only.”
The update also includes a translation fix for ArcheryX, ensuring that some missing language elements now appear properly on the watch.
Beta Version 24.15 is available as an over-the-air update for eligible Fenix 8 and Fenix 8 Pro devices enrolled in Garmin’s beta software program. Users who depend on stable performance may prefer to wait for the public release, but those testing the beta channel should see a more reliable experience across health tracking, navigation, swimming, and workout features.
