Garmin enthusiasts, brace yourselves for an exciting update! The latest beta version 25.21 has just been released for the Garmin Edge 540, Edge 840, and Edge 1040 GPS cycling computers. This recent update is the newest iteration in the Q4 Public Beta series, following the wave of innovative tweaks introduced earlier in November.
This release focuses primarily on refining user experience by addressing several bugs. Notably, it fixes issues with map visuals on data screens and resolves peculiarities related to the Stamina Distance to Go units. Cyclists will be pleased to hear that erratic grade values during suspended and resumed cycling sessions are now a thing of the past. Moreover, crashes during power down have been eliminated. Particularly for the Edge 540 and Edge 840 models, there’s a nifty fix for clipped icons in the Distance to Next field. Furthermore, the update brings a fresh new look to the icon displayed when connecting your Edge device to a computer.
To make the most of these enhancements, users must first download beta version 24.54 before upgrading to 25.21. To navigate through this process, simply head to your Main Menu, select System, then About, and finally Check for Updates. Currently, about 20% of users can get their hands on this update, so keep an eye out if you’re part of that lucky group.
As an added incentive to tech-savvy cyclists, the Edge 540 model is now available on Amazon at a discounted price of $249.99, down from its original retail price of $349.99! This is the perfect time to take advantage of these upgrades and the fantastic cycling technology Garmin continues to provide.
