Garmin Rolls Out Global Update for Its Premium Smartwatch

Garmin Venu X1 gets new Software Version 18.32 with key bug fixes

Garmin has started rolling out a fresh stable update for the Venu X1, replacing Software Version 18.29 with the newer Software Version 18.32. The update appears to have arrived without much advance notice, but it brings several important fixes that should improve the everyday experience for users of the premium smartwatch.

According to Garmin, Software Version 18.32 has already been made available to around 20% of eligible Venu X1 devices. The update is being delivered in phases, which means not every user will see it at the same time. For most owners, the firmware should install automatically through Garmin Connect Mobile or Garmin Express once it becomes available for their device.

Users who do not want to wait for the automatic rollout can also check for the update manually. To do this, open the main menu on the Garmin Venu X1, go to Settings, then System, and select Software Update. From there, choose Check for Updates to see whether Software Version 18.32 is ready to download.

The new Garmin Venu X1 update focuses mainly on fixing issues introduced or left unresolved in the previous firmware. One of the most notable improvements is the return of proper silent mode and do not disturb behavior. Some users had reported that these modes were not working as expected, but the latest software should restore normal functionality.

Software Version 18.32 also fixes a problem that could cause the Venu X1 to reset when switching screens during an activity. This is an important stability improvement, especially for users who rely on the watch for workouts, outdoor tracking, running, cycling, or other fitness sessions.

Garmin has also addressed issues related to Spotify playback. With the latest update, full Spotify functionality is expected to work again, making it easier for users to control and enjoy music directly from the smartwatch.

Another useful fix involves alarm vibrations. On Software Version 18.29, alarm vibrations could become unintentionally disabled, potentially causing users to miss alerts. The new update restores expected vibration behavior for alarms.

Overall, Garmin Software Version 18.32 is a maintenance-focused update, but it delivers meaningful improvements for Venu X1 owners. With fixes for silent mode, do not disturb, activity screen stability, Spotify playback, and alarm vibrations, the update should make the smartwatch more reliable for daily use and fitness tracking.
