Garmin is rolling out a new beta update for its Instinct 3 series smartwatches, including the Instinct 3 AMOLED, Instinct 3 Solar, and Instinct E models. The 10.21 beta version is focused on addressing an issue related to the GoPro remote control feature, as well as resolving bugs related to viewing glances and editing activities.
This update comes just a week after the previous version, 10.19, which aimed to fix issues with heart rate zones and GameOn Broadcast settings. In the 10.21 update, Garmin tackles three main bugs for these smartwatches. For the AMOLED version, a crash issue when pairing with a GoPro has been resolved. It’s still uncertain if this bug also impacts other models like the Fenix 8 or the Forerunner 970, which also use the GoPro Camera Control app.
Meanwhile, the Instinct 3 Solar and Instinct E models benefit from two additional fixes. One resolves missing options when editing Activities and Apps in the Garmin Connect Mobile app, and the other prevents crashes when users attempt to view glances.
According to a Garmin forum post, the beta update 10.21 has reached roughly 20% of users. It is automatically being distributed via Bluetooth through the Garmin Connect Mobile app or via Garmin Express. There is still no word on when the stable version of this software will be available for all Instinct 3 smartwatch owners.
