Garmin Fenix 9 Pro could arrive with a premium titanium unibody and bigger display upgrade
Garmin is preparing for a major product launch on Tuesday, August 26, with a livestream scheduled for 1:00 p.m. CEST on YouTube. The spotlight is widely expected to be on the next generation of the company’s rugged multisport smartwatches: the Garmin Fenix 9 and Garmin Fenix 9 Pro.
The Fenix lineup has long been a favorite among athletes, hikers, endurance runners, cyclists, and outdoor adventurers, and the upcoming models may bring some of the most notable design changes in recent years. According to recent leaks and industry rumors, Garmin is planning to make the Fenix 9 series feel more premium while keeping pricing close to the previous generation.
One of the biggest expected changes is the arrival of inReach satellite connectivity on both the Garmin Fenix 9 and Fenix 9 Pro, at least as an optional feature. If accurate, this would mark an important shift from the Fenix 8 generation, where satellite communication helped separate the standard and Pro models. With inReach support potentially becoming available across more versions, users could gain access to emergency messaging and off-grid communication without necessarily needing to choose the most expensive model.
The Garmin Fenix 9 Pro is also rumored to feature a completely redesigned case made entirely from titanium.
