Garmin is wasting no time refining its latest round of beta software for some of its most popular outdoor smartwatches. After recently rolling out Beta Version 26.06 to models like the Enduro 2, Fenix 7, Quatix 7, and Marq Gen 2, the company has now moved on to Beta Version 26.07 to squash a specific issue affecting inReach Remote.
What makes this update especially notable is that it also reaches Pro-branded watches, including devices such as the Fenix 7 Pro and Fenix 7X Pro. Earlier, Garmin suggested that Pro models would get the same update at a later, unspecified time, but Beta Version 26.07 arriving now signals a quicker-than-expected expansion of support.
The main reason for the new beta is a bug fix for inReach Remote usage. Garmin previously acknowledged a problem in Beta Version 26.06 that could interfere with using inReach features from the watch, and Beta Version 26.07 is designed to address that.
There’s one important catch: this beta update doesn’t automatically appear for everyone. If you want Beta Version 26.07, you’ll need to request it manually on your watch by going to Menu, then System, then Software Update, and selecting “Check for Updates.”
Beyond the inReach-related fix, Beta Version 26.07 keeps the other improvements that were packaged into the prior beta release. Here’s what Garmin lists as the set of changes introduced from Beta Version 26.04 through 26.07:
Fixed text irregularities between the watch and Garmin Connect in the Power Manager app
Fixed a potential shutdown issue on the Garmin Coach app
Fixed an issue with button navigation on the InReach Widget
If you rely on inReach Remote for off-grid communication and safety features, this is a particularly worthwhile beta to install, especially for users who noticed inReach controls behaving inconsistently after the previous update.
