GameHub, the popular PC games emulation app for Android, is rolling out a major beta update packed with upgrades that should make mobile PC gaming smoother, faster, and more flexible. The new features are currently live in GameHub 6.0 beta, giving early testers a first look at what could become the app’s biggest update yet.
The headline addition is Epic Games Store integration. With this update, GameHub users can access a much larger catalog of PC games through Epic’s library directly inside the app. It’s a feature many players have been waiting for, especially as more PC titles rotate through Epic’s lineup. Epic Games support has also been spotted in the beta release of GameHub for Mac, signaling that the developers are pushing for a more connected, multi-platform experience.
Speed is another major focus of the update. GameHub says several Steam games now launch “several times faster,” thanks to a Steam launch boost included in the beta. For anyone who has dealt with long loading and startup times when trying to run PC titles on Android, this could be one of the most immediately noticeable improvements.
The update also expands how you play. GameHub now supports both landscape and portrait (vertical) orientation, letting you switch modes more seamlessly depending on the game, your controller setup, or just how you prefer holding your phone. Alongside that, the app introduces “Ultimate Virtual Controls,” described as its most powerful control customization yet—useful for players who rely on touchscreen layouts and want finer control over button placement and behavior.
Sharing those control setups is also easier now. The beta adds configuration sharing via Share Codes, making it simpler to send your best control layout to friends or grab a proven setup for a specific game without rebuilding everything from scratch.
Retro fans aren’t left out either. A new Retro Emulator feature allows users to bring classic games into GameHub, effectively combining PC gaming emulation and retro gaming in one place. The changelog also mentions the ability to add retro games to your library, making GameHub feel more like an all-in-one hub rather than a single-purpose tool.
Here’s what the GameHub 6.0 beta changelog highlights:
– Steam Launch Boost for significantly faster game starts
– Advanced virtual control customization
– Config sharing through Share Codes
– Epic Games Store integration
– Landscape and portrait orientation support
– Retro emulator support for classic games
One important note before jumping in: GameHub warns that due to changes tied to a core architecture upgrade, users who install the beta won’t be able to downgrade back to an older version afterward. That makes this beta best suited for users comfortable with testing newer builds and living with the occasional rough edge.
For now, there’s no official word on when these features will arrive in the stable release. Still, if the beta performance matches the promises—especially faster Steam launches and Epic Games Store access—this update could significantly boost GameHub’s appeal for Android gamers who want a bigger library and a more console-like experience on the go.
