Galaxy Watch Ultra2 Leak Teases Huge Battery Boost, Snapdragon Wear Elite Power, and Mares Dive Tools

Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra2 Debuts With Bigger Battery, Slimmer Titanium Design, and Advanced Outdoor Features

Samsung has introduced the Galaxy Watch Ultra2, a rugged premium smartwatch built for athletes, outdoor explorers, and users who want a durable wearable with stronger performance and longer battery life. Priced at €749 in the European Union for the LTE model, the new smartwatch arrives in a single 47 mm titanium case and is available in Titanium Gray and Titanium Silver.

The Galaxy Watch Ultra2 keeps the distinctive orange action button seen on the earlier model, giving users quick access to workouts, outdoor tools, and other key functions. While the watch still focuses on adventure-ready durability, Samsung has refined the overall design to make it slimmer, lighter, and more comfortable for daily wear.

One of the biggest upgrades is the new Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear Elite chipset. Samsung says the processor delivers 32% faster CPU performance and 19% improved GPU performance compared with the Exynos W1000 used in the original Galaxy Watch Ultra. In everyday use, that should mean quicker app launches, smoother navigation, and a more responsive smartwatch experience.

Battery life also gets a major boost. The Galaxy Watch Ultra2 packs an 800 mAh battery, a 35% increase over the 590 mAh battery in the first Galaxy Watch Ultra. Samsung says the larger battery is designed to support all-day workout tracking, making it more practical for long hikes, endurance training, trail running, and outdoor sessions where charging is not convenient.

Despite the larger battery, the watch is thinner than before. The titanium case measures 10.7 mm thick, down from 12.1 mm on the original model. Samsung has also improved the silicone band, reducing it to 1.9 mm while making it 26% lighter and softer. The result should be a more comfortable fit, especially during long workouts or overnight sleep tracking.

The display is another highlight. Samsung has increased brightness to 5,000 nits, making the screen easier to read in bright sunlight. This is especially useful for runners, cyclists, hikers, and divers who need clear visibility outdoors.

Samsung also showcased a wide selection of band options for the Galaxy Watch Ultra2. The standard silicone sport bands feature perforated venting and come in colors such as black, khaki, olive, and taupe. These options give users more flexibility to match the watch with workout gear, casual outfits, or outdoor equipment.

For fitness and adventure tracking, the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 brings improved trail-running tools. Users can access route tracking with turn-by-turn guidance, elevation data, and hydration alerts. The hydration feature estimates body water loss during activity, helping athletes better manage fluid intake during demanding workouts. This feature requires Android 13 or later and Samsung Health 7.0 or later.

Diving support is another major addition. Developed in partnership with Mares, the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 can track real-time depth, water temperature, and dive time. The watch is rated IP69K and 10 ATM and complies with EN 13319, making it suitable for serious water-based activities. However, full dive computer features require a separate Mares app. Samsung says this dive-focused partnership will remain exclusive to the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 among Wear OS smartwatches for two years.

The smartwatch also introduces Vitals, a new sleep-based wellness feature that monitors key health signals while users rest. It tracks heart rate, heart rate variability, skin temperature, blood oxygen, and respiratory rate. After seven nights of data collection, the system can identify changes from a user’s normal baseline and flag potential irregularities. Samsung notes that Vitals is not intended for medical diagnosis, but it may help users better understand changes in their overall wellness.

Another new feature is Fitness Index, which evaluates users based on body composition, cardio performance, strength, flexibility, and endurance. It also includes a training focus mode that provides weekly recommendations, helping users create a more balanced fitness routine.

With a larger battery, brighter display, faster chipset, slimmer titanium body, advanced trail-running tools, and new diving features, the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra2 is clearly positioned as a premium smartwatch for demanding users. It is designed for people who want a durable Wear OS smartwatch that can handle intense training, outdoor adventures, health tracking, and everyday smartwatch tasks in one high-end package.
