The Galaxy S25 Ultra and Galaxy S25 Edge may seem like a straightforward comparison on paper—especially given the Ultra’s heftier price tag and more expansive camera setup. However, a surprising camera showdown reveals an unexpected twist: the Galaxy S25 Edge shines brightly, particularly in 4x zoom quality.
A well-known tipster, Ice Universe, conducted a camera shootout between these two flagship models. With the Galaxy S25 Edge costing $1,099 for the 256GB version, expectations were high for its performance. Surprisingly, the Edge’s camera produced superior results compared to the Ultra, even though the latter boasts more camera versatility.
Samsung had previously claimed that the Galaxy S25 Edge’s 200MP main camera could emulate 2x optical zoom. Yet, in this test, it was the 4x zoom that stood out, exhibiting less noise and more detail. This improvement likely stems from enhancements in algorithms and computational photography included in the Edge’s software.
The real question is whether Samsung plans to extend these camera improvements across the entire Galaxy S25 lineup. It appears the company may have delayed the Edge’s launch to refine its camera capabilities, despite it featuring just two primary sensors.
What are your thoughts on this surprising outcome? Why do you think the Galaxy S25 Ultra fell short in this comparison? Feel free to share your opinions!
