Framework Laptop 13 Pro delivers impressive real-world battery life in video call testing
The Framework Laptop 13 Pro is shaping up to be one of the most compelling modular laptops for users who care about long battery life. While performance, repairability, and upgrade options are all part of the appeal, battery endurance appears to be one of the biggest upgrades in this new model.
Framework has been actively highlighting the Laptop 13 Pro’s improved battery performance, and its latest real-world test makes a strong case for the device as a dependable work machine. In a Google Meet video call test, the Framework Laptop 13 Pro reportedly lasted for more than 11 hours on a single charge.
That result is especially impressive because video conferencing is typically one of the most demanding everyday tasks for a laptop battery. Between the webcam, microphone, wireless connection, screen, and processor load, long meetings can quickly drain many portable PCs. For remote workers, students, and professionals who spend much of the day in online calls, an 11-hour Google Meet result could make a meaningful difference.
The test was conducted using Google Meet in Microsoft Edge on Windows 11. The display brightness was set to 250 nits, which Framework says equals about 65% of the screen’s maximum brightness. The refresh rate was limited to 60 Hz, and the system was running in the “Best Power Efficiency” mode. While these settings are optimized for battery savings, they still reflect a realistic setup for long work sessions.
This result follows another strong battery claim from Framework involving 4K Netflix streaming. In that test, the Framework Laptop 13 Pro reportedly managed more than 20 hours of continuous playback. Together, these results suggest that the laptop is not just efficient in light use, but also capable of lasting through extended entertainment and productivity sessions.
Compared with the original Framework Laptop 13, the improvement is significant. The earlier model delivered around 8 hours of battery life in testing, held back by a smaller 61 Wh battery and less efficient hardware. The Laptop 13 Pro steps things up with a larger 74.5 Wh battery, helping it achieve noticeably longer runtime.
For anyone considering a portable productivity laptop, this makes the Framework Laptop 13 Pro a much more attractive option. Long battery life is one of the most important features for people who travel often, work away from a desk, or simply do not want to stay tied to a charger throughout the day.
However, there is one limitation for owners of the original Framework Laptop 13. The larger 74.5 Wh battery from the Laptop 13 Pro cannot be dropped directly into the older machine without additional changes. According to Framework, users would need a new keyboard deck to make the battery upgrade possible.
Even with that caveat, the Framework Laptop 13 Pro’s battery results are promising. With over 11 hours in a real-world Google Meet test and more than 20 hours of 4K video streaming, the laptop appears ready for long workdays, late-night study sessions, and extended entertainment without constant charging.
