Gigabyte is adding a fresh twist to NVIDIA’s flagship lineup with the new AORUS GeForce RTX 5090 Infinity, a premium custom graphics card that focuses on something PC builders always want: top-tier RTX 5090 performance in a surprisingly compact design.
At first glance, the AORUS RTX 5090 Infinity looks like it’s using a more traditional dual-fan layout. In reality, it’s a smartly engineered triple-fan card housed in a triple-slot form factor, designed to deliver strong airflow and low temperatures without the oversized footprint many high-end GPUs demand.
A compact RTX 5090 design built around a Founders Edition-style PCB
One of the most interesting choices here is the PCB approach. Instead of going with a long, conventional board, Gigabyte designed the Infinity around a square-shaped PCB similar to the Founders Edition layout. That design decision helps explain the card’s tighter overall footprint and also influences the airflow strategy. The 16-pin power connector is positioned vertically in the same style, reinforcing that this build is meant to be space-conscious while still targeting flagship-class output.
AORUS also leans into a premium aesthetic with a white-and-black color scheme, silver accents, and circular cut-outs that help vent air upward. The overall look is clean and modern, and the venting hints at what’s happening under the shroud: a dual flow-through cooling concept intended to move heat out efficiently.
Windforce Hyperburst cooling and a clever triple-fan setup
Cooling is the main story behind the RTX 5090 Infinity. Gigabyte’s AORUS team built a new thermal design that uses its Windforce Hyperburst cooling system. This setup includes dual Hawk fans, a direct-touch vapor chamber, and superconducting heat pipes—all engineered to pull heat away quickly under heavy gaming or creator workloads.
Gigabyte is also using composite metal grease as the thermal interface material (TIM), aiming for strong heat transfer between key components and the cooler.
Then there’s the extra trick: a third fan positioned in the center of the shroud. AORUS refers to it as the “Overdrive” fan, and it’s designed to kick in when extra cooling is needed. In theory, this gives users an added airflow boost during more demanding sessions—helpful for maintaining consistent boost behavior and keeping thermals under control when the GPU is being pushed hard.
A flagship RTX 5090 with enhanced cooling and a unique identity
With the AORUS GeForce RTX 5090 Infinity, Gigabyte appears to be targeting builders who want a high-end RTX 5090 graphics card without committing to an oversized, ultra-thick cooler design. The combination of a compact FE-style PCB, dual flow-through ventilation, and the optional Overdrive fan gives this GPU a distinct approach in the premium custom RTX 5090 space.
Pricing and availability haven’t been announced yet, but the design suggests Gigabyte is positioning this as a high-end option for enthusiasts who care about cooling performance, aesthetics, and efficient space usage in their next build.
