Forza Horizon 6 is already off to a huge start, pulling in massive player numbers just days after its global launch. The latest entry in Microsoft’s open-world racing series has quickly become one of the biggest talking points in gaming, thanks to its polished driving, vibrant world, and highly active community.
As expected, the modding scene has wasted no time getting involved. While players are already experimenting with visual tweaks, quality-of-life improvements, and gameplay adjustments, one particular mod has caught the attention of racing fans who want a more personal soundtrack while cruising through the festival.
The mod is called Spotify Radio, created by BigJohn0, and its idea is simple but exciting: it lets players bring Spotify directly into Forza Horizon 6’s radio system.
Instead of relying only on the game’s built-in radio stations, the mod uses Spotify Connect to stream music through the in-game Streamer Mode station. Once installed, Spotify recognizes the player’s PC as “FH6 Radio,” allowing music to play as if it were part of the game’s official radio setup.
What makes this mod stand out is how naturally it appears to blend with Forza Horizon 6. It does not just play music in the background. The game can display live song titles and artist information on the HUD, making it feel much closer to a native radio station than a simple external music player.
Because the music runs through the Streamer Mode station, it also works with familiar in-game audio behavior such as volume controls and menu fade effects. For players who love building their own racing playlist, this could make long drives, events, and open-world exploration feel far more customized.
There is one important requirement, however. Spotify Premium is needed for the mod to work properly. Free Spotify accounts will not be enough to use the integration as intended.
Unfortunately, there is a major catch right now: the mod is not currently available for public download.
The file has been quarantined on Nexus Mods because it uses a .dll file that modifies how the game launches. While that does not automatically mean the mod is unsafe, this type of file behavior can sometimes be associated with security risks, including malware. As a precaution, downloads have been blocked while the platform reviews the file.
If the mod is found to be safe, it may return and become available again for Forza Horizon 6 players. Until then, fans will need to rely on the game’s standard radio stations or play their own music outside the game.
Still, the excitement around Spotify Radio shows just how quickly the Forza Horizon 6 community is growing. With the game already breaking records and modders exploring new ways to improve the experience, this could be only the beginning of a very active modding scene.
For now, players hoping to turn Forza Horizon 6 into their own Spotify-powered road trip will have to wait for the review process to finish. If cleared, the mod could become one of the most popular quality-of-life additions for the game.
