Square Enix has shared a fresh look at Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the highly anticipated final chapter in the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy. The reveal took place during the Final Fantasy XIV European Fan Festival in Berlin, where director Naoki Hamaguchi joined Final Fantasy XIV producer and director Naoki Yoshida to showcase what fans can expect from Cloud Strife’s next adventure.
The new Final Fantasy VII Revelation trailer offered an emotional and cinematic preview of the journey ahead. Viewers were treated to dramatic story scenes, expansive landscapes, intense battles, and powerful moments featuring Cloud, Aerith, and the rest of the party. The footage made it clear that this final entry aims to deliver a larger, more ambitious experience than the previous games in the remake trilogy.
One of the biggest highlights was Square Enix’s confirmation that Final Fantasy VII Revelation will feature the largest world in the series so far. Players can expect more freedom to explore massive environments, discover new locations, and experience the world of Final Fantasy VII on a much grander scale.
The trailer also revealed the return of the Highwind airship, one of the most iconic elements from the original Final Fantasy VII. With the Highwind, players will be able to travel freely across the game’s world, adding a major sense of adventure and exploration to the final chapter.
Combat is also being expanded in Final Fantasy VII Revelation. The game will continue using the remake trilogy’s hybrid battle system, blending real-time action with tactical decision-making inspired by the classic 1997 RPG. This approach gives players fast-paced battles while still preserving the strategic feel that longtime fans associate with Final Fantasy VII.
Alongside the trailer, Square Enix also announced Beyond the Lifestream, a new crossover raid series coming to Final Fantasy XIV. This upcoming content will bring locations, themes, and elements from the Final Fantasy VII universe into the popular MMORPG, giving fans another way to experience the world and legacy of the classic RPG.
Final Fantasy VII Revelation is currently scheduled to launch in Spring 2027. The game is planned for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, including Steam and other storefronts, and Nintendo Switch 2. As the conclusion to one of Square Enix’s most beloved remake projects, Final Fantasy VII Revelation is shaping up to be one of the biggest RPG releases of 2027.
