Aktiia has unveiled its innovative G0 blood pressure monitor, which has now received the FDA’s 510(k) clearance, marking it as a trailblazing device in the US market. Known as the Hilo Band in Europe, this pioneering wearable offers round-the-clock blood pressure tracking and syncs seamlessly with a feature-rich app.
The FDA’s green light signifies that the G0 is suitable for over-the-counter sales, making it the first cuffless blood pressure monitor available directly to consumers in the country. In Europe, the device, branded as the Hilo Band, already boasts a user base exceeding 130,000, and anticipation is high as it prepares to land stateside.
Designed for continuous monitoring, the G0 or Hilo Band delivers over 800 readings each month. The device, fashioned as a sleek silicone wristband, houses a sophisticated blood pressure pod that sits snugly against the skin to capture accurate systolic and diastolic measurements. This data streams to an app, offering users a detailed log and tools to track historical trends. Subscribers can even explore how exercise, diet, and stress influence their heart rate. With a battery life extending up to 15 days and a quick 90-minute recharge, it’s designed for hassle-free use.
Although pricing for the US release remains under wraps, the European market prices the Hilo Band around £209.99/€229.99, roughly $280. US consumers can expect this cutting-edge health tech to be available sometime in 2026.
