The Fairphone 6 is making its way to the US, thanks to Murena, a company renowned for offering de-Googled versions of Android devices. While Fairphone originally launched this sustainable smartphone in Europe, they’ve not officially extended its availability to North America. However, Murena provides an excellent opportunity for US customers to experience this eco-friendly technology.
The Fairphone 6, on sale at Murena for $899, will come with the e/OS/ operating system, distinguishing it from its European counterpart that includes Google services. Carrying a higher price tag due to its US adaptation, this model is compatible with T-Mobile and its MVNOs, although it’s not supported by Verizon.
Available in Cloud White, Forest Green, and Horizon Black, the Murena Fairphone 6 offers a 5-year warranty. This includes the typical 2-year warranty and an additional extension from Fairphone. Shipping begins in August, and though parts aren’t available yet, Murena plans to eventually offer them, much like they do for older models.
For environmentally-conscious consumers in the US, the Fairphone 6 through Murena provides an attractive alternative, aligning with the growing demand for sustainable tech solutions.
