Valve has added a fresh twist to its Steam Deck OLED gaming handheld with a limited edition white variant, just in time for the holiday season. This new edition is set to attract gamers around the globe, although it’s available in limited numbers and comes with a slightly heftier price tag than its counterparts.
Initially, the Steam Deck OLED was introduced in two colors: classic black and a unique transparent variant exclusive to the 1TB version. Now, Valve has unveiled the Steam Deck OLED: Limited Edition White, once again exclusively available in the 1TB configuration. This striking new model sports an off-white shell complemented by gray buttons, with an eye-catching orange power button adding a pop of color. To add to its exclusivity, it includes a matching white carrying case and a white microfiber cloth.
Valve plans to roll out this special edition globally, including Australia, which recently launched the Steam Deck lineup. The white edition will go on sale on November 18th at 3 PM PST (November 19th, at 10 AM AEDT), with stock distributed proportionally across different regions. To ensure fairness, Valve has set a restriction of one unit per Steam account, requiring that the account must have made a purchase before November 2024. Once this exclusive batch sells out, there will be no further production, staying true to the limited edition promise.
Priced at $679 in the US, the Steam Deck OLED: Limited Edition White is $30 more expensive than the black 1TB model. Aside from its chic color, the specifications remain identical. For those who already own a Steam Deck and want to switch up the aesthetics, consider a white skin, such as a Matte Vinyl Skin, to achieve a similar look without purchasing a new device. If you’re eager to own a piece of this limited release, mark your calendar and be prepared to act quickly, as this unique variant is expected to fly off the shelves.
